Spears Fam Attacks Phil: You Totally Betrayed Us!

Jamie and Lynne Spears slammed -- and we mean slammed -- Dr. Phil this morning, calling the way he handled his contact with Britney a betrayal, inappropriate and a total breach of their trust.

Spears family rep Lou Taylor told Meredith Vieira on the "Today" show that Dr. Phil actually broached the subject of doing a show about Britney, but that they nixed the idea, only to have Phil try to set up the show anyway. Taylor scorched Phil, saying it was even "inappropriate" for Phil to bring up doing a show, and that the family thought it would be detrimental to Britney.

What's more, Taylor said that the family felt "betrayed" that Phil would issue any kind of statement after meeting with Brit, and that nobody had given him any authority to say anything, much less bellow on and on like he did.

It's a total smackdown.

Go to this site and you'll read that another poster was correct, he does NOT have a license to practice. Which begs the question, how could the hospital have given him access to her? Wouldn't it have had to be the family? If the hospital did, I would think they would be fined or something.

260. Why is it that "Mama" is always blamed when the kids have problems? Where was good ole Daddy when "Mama" was ruining the girls? I truly believe that Britney has had a nervous breakdown and needs prayers instead of ridicule. Also I think Dr. Phil is a sadistic man who loves to see women cry. He is just a big, fat, phony!!!!!!

262. Dr. Phil did not do anything inapropriate but stick his Big Bald head into a lions den. Did they also steal the wine cooler? She has issues and their are way better people and clinics than Dr. Phil. He and Opray had that mess going on for a while also. Th underage sister/daighter is pregnant and Mom is cool with that. Her Mom may think nothing is wrong with Brittany. They still need the money so someone will be executer of the estate because she is a time bomb. She may end up like Anna Nicole amd if she does than that might be the best thing for her. She needs yhe best help she can get. They can definately afford to get her the best! She needs to get out of Hollywood.

263. SOMEONE NEEDS TO HELP BRITNEY!!!! The girl is going to die if someone does not get her mental health help and that person should be her Mom. Mom needs to step up to the plate and be a Mother. 270. Why is eveyone mad at Phil? Come on ... if he's interested in doing a spot on Brit, he can ask!! This is America and he has the right ... if she says "no" then OK. But what's the biggie? And YOU ALL KNOW if she said "yes" and was on the show ... YOU'D ALL BE WATCHING!!!! No one needs to feel betrayed .... Brit's got her 'gig' and Phil's got his. Although I would hope Brit's new gig is 28 days long (at least)!!!!!!! Ratings are ratings are ratings ... but I guess now she'll never go on; even after a rehab/recuperation stint. **sigh**
