Spears Fam Attacks Phil: You Totally Betrayed Us!

Jamie and Lynne Spears slammed -- and we mean slammed -- Dr. Phil this morning, calling the way he handled his contact with Britney a betrayal, inappropriate and a total breach of their trust.

Spears family rep Lou Taylor told Meredith Vieira on the "Today" show that Dr. Phil actually broached the subject of doing a show about Britney, but that they nixed the idea, only to have Phil try to set up the show anyway. Taylor scorched Phil, saying it was even "inappropriate" for Phil to bring up doing a show, and that the family thought it would be detrimental to Britney.

What's more, Taylor said that the family felt "betrayed" that Phil would issue any kind of statement after meeting with Brit, and that nobody had given him any authority to say anything, much less bellow on and on like he did.

It's a total smackdown.

19. people should really leave this family alone. I think that they are all good people. they were betrayed by someone who they thought they could trust. "dr". phil just wanted ratings and publicity out of this familys hardship. its pathetic. just leave them alone already

21. They are trying to save face- their own! They DID invite him into the situation I absolutely believe that. He did what the previous poster said he does best- I don't blame him. I am sure they will move on to the next person now to get someone else involved. Too bad Phil go sucked in the the quacko family garbage.

Yes well the world is seeing the doctor in his true light...anyone who has ever seen a taping of his show up close and personal knows his M.O and it is the physchologically ambush people and know all the buttons to push to do the most damage thus creating him bigger ratings and inflating his already omnipitent additude..His staff also versed at the blood sport ...all professionals with even a crumb of ethics know he is a buzzard ready to feed on the weaker and injured..He has driven people case and point Ms. Bambanic to jump out a window to get away from him loosing her leg to amputation in the process not to mention the families he has destroyed...

24. Stop blaming everyone else for Brit's meltdown (K-Fed, Dr. Phil, papparazzi). Own up to the fact that she is a screw up, and get the d*mn girl some help because it's obvious that she's not bright enough to be interested in her own well-being! Worry about that Spears' family.

25. Look... Dr. Phil does not need ANYONE to boost his status. His achievements in society speak for themselves. He is NOT exploiting or self-serving. He is real. He really cares. He understood that what he did was helping others. Understand the man for who he is. He is a caring, loving individual who truly makes our world a better place. Be kind to him. He is kind to us. Please give him a break and see him for what he really is.

26. I don't know who to believe in this case but "Dr. Phil Blowhard" was wrong to get involved and shoot his yap off. You would think that he would know better but obviously he is a know it all. Why the Spears family would even choose to contact him to begin with is ridiculous. He is out for only one thing..himself and his ratings. I find it funny how he rags on people for the way they speak to their kids or family members but he sure doesn't pull any punches with those unfortunate enough to seek his help. He has no business even refering to himself as a doctor....he is not a board cerified doctor period. As for the Spears family, well you have no sympathy coming from me. You went to a quack and what did you expect? Oh that's right..you look upon him as a god. Maybe you need to see him as he really is, one of the devil's own.

27. I wonder how much this piece of trash got paid for this interview?? and i bet she shopped it around to a few people before she got a buyer. This Bitch is the route off all spears evil! Don't get me wrong, her daughters are total screwups and worthless, but it takes years of aweful parenting to raise two daughters to have the WORST DECISION MAKING SKILLS EVER!

30. Dr. Phil ahould have his whizbang lawyer son explain HIPAA law to Phil, Cedars-Sinai, and the Spears family, especially regarding Britney's medical privacy rights and violations for non-compliance of HIPAA law.
