Celebrity Justice
Gary Collins Behind Bars -- with Kiefer!

Gary Collins has turned himself in to serve his time at the Glendale, Calif. City Jail. Hey Kiefer ... incoming!

We're told Collins, who elected to pay the $75 a day to stay in Glendale rather than the hardcore L.A. County Jail, will not have to do laundry or kitchen duty, unlike his famous jail mate, Kiefer Sutherland. He'll only be there for 96 hours.

Collins pleaded no contest to DUI charges last month, and in addition to jail time, was sentenced to four years of probation.

16. Get over it peeps!! The rich are priviledged and always have been. If you think about too much, you will go Britney. It isn't fair at all and I hope the family of the victim sue his butt off. Hollywierd is going to fall into the Pacific one of these days.

17. No one should drink and drive, no one should be allowed to drive when they are 89! I am sorry that the 89 year old man died, condolences to his family.

18. 96 hours for being a drunk and killing someone?? That is not justice. I hope the victim's family sues him for everything he's got. This makes me sick. I hate celebrities, celebrity and this bass ackwards system they have going on in LaLaLand.

19. The question is will Britney survive without food locked in his basement for 96 hours.

20. What a tragic thing for both families to have to endure. This is proof positive that this sort of thing can happen to anyone who makes the decision to get behind the wheel of a car after imbibing. Gary Collins is an otherwise really decent human being who made a very poor decision. I can't imagine having to deal with causing such an avoidable tragedy at his age. My condolences first to the deceased's family, and wishes for eventual forgiveness all around, second, and lessons learned by many removed witnesses, by example, lastly.

21. The old man was the one who caused the accident; he failed to yield to oncoming traffic and hit Collins. Not taking up for Collins..he shouldn't have been drinking and driving...but that's not the point of this article. He's in there for DUI. Not for causing the death of this old man. I feel sorry for him (the old man) and his family. Collins did not himself kill this man.

22.
He made a plea deal the day before the old man died, knowing the old man was dying.
How is that taking responsibility. The DA helped him out is all I see.

96 hours for how many years of driving drunk?
The guy may feel remorse, But responsibility is not a word I use in this case

24. That's really too sad. I came across this story purely by accident. I've always liked Gary Collins. He's always had the image of an All-American boy nice guy. I quit drinking a while back and it's probably one of the smartest things I've ever done. And to think that could have been any of us.

25. You know maybe it's me but if he hadn't been drinking maybe he could have avoided the accident. Justice in California depends on the mood of the DA. Kiefer has to serve all 48 days and isn't buying his way through it. Gary Collins while he's there can take a lesson from Kiefer on how to be a real man. I hope that he gets sued by the man's family. Because just me this isn't teaching him any lesson. The best part is he'll be out before Kiefer. Amazing absolutely amazing.
