Witnesses Take Stand in Brit Custody Hearing

Brit's still a no-show, but today's custody hearing is continuing as scheduled, having just broken for lunch.

A group of LAPD officers, firefighters and paramedics who were on scene at Brit's Ranchita Popwreck breakdown on the January 4 are expected to testify today. A male LAPD officer, who was one of the first responders to Brit's house that night, just finished testifying.

K-Fed and attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan are in the building, Britney hasn't even left her house. Today's hearing is considered Britney's last chance to get any custody back -- if she doesn't show, it could be over for her visitation until at least April.

36. i've always felt sorry for Britney... it must be hard to have your kids taken from you, but this proves that they should be with their dad. People are saying that he's a loser but at least he's shown up for every court apperance and is looking out for their best interest! I no longer simpathis with her because she obviously doesn't give a s*it about her kids!!! Its amazing... there are good people that are having a hard time getting pregnant and this crazy biatch had 2 perfect boys and could care less about them! She doesn't deserve to have them...

42. I have been a long time Britney fan and hoped that she cared enough about herself to get help and fight for her kids. But as this drags on it shows that she doesn't care for herself, places herself above everyone else - including her kids - or she would be at court, check her self in to a psych ward - whatever it took to keep the keeps with her and a way from k-fed. I honestly and beginning to believe that she thinks she is above everyone else. There are so many popular people - more so than her- that can go out and avoid the photographers - she must get off on it. I'm sorry Brit - but I think that I am going to have to bail as a fan - and hope a lot more do as well. I can't watch you throw everything away.

45. It's sad but Britney is really just telling everyone what her priorities are right now. Not the children, not her family, just her meds and her new guy. She extends more effort in getting her coffee every day! I feel bad for the kids but thankfully they are too young (still) to understand their mom's behavior. It will hurt when they are older but they have a good father who has put them first and they have other relatives to rely on. It's not the same as mom but it can be enough.
