He also appeared in made for television movies The Bear and Making of a Male Model co-starring Joan Collins and Roxie Roker, and in an episode of Hotel. To Cricket65: It was Jon-Erik Hexum you are thinking of. Playing around on set of Cover Up and shot himself with a gun that shot blanks. Was also in TV show "Voyagers". Died 1983.

It wasn't Brandon Lee that died from shooting himself with blanks...It was Jon-Erik Hexum from Voyagers with Meeno Peluce (Soliel Moon Frye's brother...she was Punky Brewster) He favors Maxwell Caulfield. I think he looks great! By the way, the actor who put a gun to his head and died from a blank was Jon-Erik Hexum. He was the star of a television series in the 80's, I believe his co-star was Jennifer O'Neill. That was a tragic accident and happened because he did not know that a blank can kill you if aimed at the right place.
