Frank-N-Furter Gets Royally Dissed

One question most celebs don't want to hear: "Why are you famous?" That's how it was for Tim Curry last night at Orso when a baffled woman quizzed the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" star -- who has a mile-long list of credits.

Guess she's not a fan of sweet transvestites from transsexual (sing with us!) Transylvaniaaaaaaaaaaa.

17. Oh, my, yes... We'd be in there with our TP and rice and flashlights and when Frankie would start playing with Janet's bra straps, I'd start yellin', "Me, Franke! Do MMMEEEE!!!" which was cool 'cause so was every body else. Good times...

18. ...and let's not forget his work on stage in Spamalot, Amadeus, A Christmas Carol and many others. He also does a tremendous amount of voice work for animation.

I cherish RHPS but Tim is a lot more than his performance as Frank!

20. Tim is terrific and a thorough gentleman. That lady should not be out unaccompanied so late. Way passed her lock-up time!

26. This is the first time I have ever seen a thread without a single negative comment about a celebrity. Tim Curry is true star, brilliant and funny. I just watched Home Alone2 a couple weeks ago and he had fantastic part in Wise Guy too didn't he? It's so funny when these kids with their cameras don't even know a true celebrity, someone who actually deserves to be famous. I love it. He was the only thing I liked about the Rocky Horror Picture Show but it sure is a cult classic. Oh and I love the Time Warp song.

28. Ugh, she's stupid.
He's freaking AMAZING.

and.....I thought he quit smoking? He said that he did in some interview from when he was doing Spamalot.

29. Not one single negative is right. Tim Curry is fantastic. He can even take a crappy show and make it good. Does anybody remember a TV show from like the '80s set in a hotel and he was an actor and the manager's ex-husband who moved in. He was wonderful. I remember one episode where John Ritter guest starred as a competing actor and they each psyched the other out. The show was lousy but that episode was priceless. I repeat, Tim Curry is fantastic.

30. I was thinking the same thing, Anya. I'm so pleased to see all the love for Tim here. The man is brilliant and woefully underrated (which is, I suppose, better than talentless and overexposed). I know people have been hard on the clueless woman who asked why he's famous, but I'd like to toss a raspberry or two at the guy who asked if he'd be doing "Rocky Horror 2". Come on now...

As for the smoking, he HAD stopped, but apparently started again during Spamalot's run on Broadway. I was very sorry about that.
