Zac Stars in High School Medical Emergency!

TMZ has learned that "HSM" star Zac Efron was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center today suffering from appendicitis.

His rep tells us "He had his appendix removed and is recuperating."

18. Apendectomy, no fun. I'm not really a huge fan of Zac, but I just had surgery last week, so I feel for him. All of you bad mouthing him, keep in mind he is still just a kid. A kid who just had surgery. Have a heart.

22. I 've had surgery in the past before and it's no walk in the park , But the pain med's are incredible. He must be flyin' like eagel and seeing if his spirit catches him.

27. dude, appendicitis can be a bitch! I had to be rushed to to the ER because mine had ruptured and my abdominal cavity had become infected, which they only discovered after they opened me up. What started as an appendectomy turned into exploratory surgery and a 13 day stay in the hospital, 10 of which I couldn't eat anything. I got a bitchin' 14 inch long scar out of it too, as well as two 1 inch incisions on both sides of my lower abdomen from the drains (anchored on the inside around my colon) that had to stay in for the entire hospital visit. Ehhhhh, but it was a more extreme case than what Zac probably had. :)
