Affleck Vetoes Fan Worship at Capitol

Looks like Ben Affleck isn't exactly a man of the people -- even though he's playing a Congressman in an upcoming movie.
Ben Affleck
Sources tell TMZ that Ben was in the Capitol building to research his role in next year's "State of Play," and while he met with Speaker Nancy Pelosi and members of the Massachusetts delegation, when it came to younger fans, he quickly filibustered the crowds. He signed a few autographs, but after a little while, says one cop, "He didn't want anybody around him" -- and had security fend off the squealing crowds.

We're also told that when he went to meet his Mass. brethren, he slipped into that Pahk-yah-cah accent. "It was cute," says a staffer. "His accent came out a little bit." Chowdah-head!

16. Not wanting people arond him then he absolutely should not be in public governemnt spaces causing problems that his celeberity status causes. Stay in Hollywierd. The arrogance is obscene.

17. This guy still gets paid to make movies? Why do the studios pay him when all his movies lose money? What a joke Hollywood is nowadays. And Ben....be nice to the fans...they pay your salary.

19. He seems like a stuffy ass. Jennifer and his daughter are so cute and happy. You never see Daddy out swinging Violet or enjoying his family the way Brad Pitt does with his children. I don't think this marriage will last.

24. As far as fan interaction, I couldn't care less because I don't plan to try and hang out with him. I have no interest in that direction. As an actor he is a flop. Big name, granted. For what reason I couldn't tell you. I find his performances flat and one dimensional. Like quite a few actors in hollywood, over rated and highly over paid.

25. I THINK HE DID A GOOD JOB, HE SIGNED A FEW AUTOGRAPHICS AND THEN NEEDED TO GET DOWN TO WORK. WE ALL HAVE JOBS TO DO AND AT THIS TIME HE WAS WORKING TO RESEARCH FOR A ROLE. WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF PEOPLE WERE BORTHER U WHEN U WERE TRYING TO DO YOUR JOB

28. I never understood the "getting an autograph" thing. Big deal, someone signed a piece of paper. Why would anyone get mad at a guy/gal that doesn't want to stand around and sign cups, napkins, old photo's, etc? I like Ben, well enough, but don't find him facicinating enough to bum rush him for a signature. I suggest folks simply get a life.

29. Let's hope he remembers to vote. That was a fiasco.
