Musician's Lil' Girl Found -- Mom Now at Lynwood

The three-year-old daughter of electronic musician Brian Transeau -- who performs under the name BT -- was found last night after a month-long search, TMZ has learned.
BT
A team of U.S. Marshals, two private investigation teams and the Santa Monica P.D. had been searching for Kaia since December, finally locating her last night. Her mother, Ashley Duffy, was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Lynwood Jail (Paris' old stomping grounds) without bail.

According to authorities, Duffy absconded with Kaia from Transeau's Maryland hotel room -- Duffy was there for a visit but instead took the kid. A warrant for Duffy's arrest was issued two weeks ago for "out-of-state child abduction from the lawful custodian" as well as "out-of-state child detention from the lawful custodian."

Transeau (BT) has scored a bunch of Hollywood hits, including "Monster" and "The Fast and the Furious."

46. Oh and if you want further proof read 18 ....I rest my case...............The father should drop dead

47. So....it doesn't say that he had custody......it just stated that she didn't. Who has legal custody of this child, and if it's the father, why were they in a hotel? Was he touring or was it just a meeting place for visitation? I sincerely hope that if the father tours/travels, that someone else has custody of this child. A baby doesn't belong on the road, getting jerked from one location to the next, IMO. I don't know who these people are, anyway, I was just curious about some of the facts that were left out of the story. I just hope that this little one is being raised by someone who has some common sense and has the child's best interest at heart. That's the only important thing here......and lots of love.

48. 42. People you dont get it....why was she running in the first place? She did not hurt the child, its a mothers love that only wanted to keep her, not give her up or back...we dont know what this man is about.Who the hell are we to judge her?She is sitting in jail her baby knows her mother has been taken away...SICK SICK SICK

You really are ridiculous, - don't YOU get it? By running, she DID hurt the child. A mother's love is no more sacrosanct than a father's. We don't know what this WOMAN is all about. Who the hell are you to ignore the law who has judged her, - with apt cause? She put HERSELF in jail because she took the father's baby away from him. If you cannot understand this, you really are...SICK SICK SICK.

Spin your idiocy elsewhere.

49. Aw, c'mon Wendy. If it were actually true that "yesterday" she was erroneously arrested, your alluded to judge would have released her (at least on bail) today. So much for sources that don't follow a legal, or even a logical, progression.

50. There is no defense for this mother. She broke the law, and in doing so, harmed her child. She deprived the father's and child's rights and is rightfully in jail. She is the female version of a lousy father and should be treated as so.

52. Wendy, since you like quotes from ABC News, here's one from the 11th.

Transeau says that he last saw his daughter, nicknamed "Kiki," Dec. 19, when he agreed to allow Duffy, whose residence is in Brooklyn, N.Y., to spend an overnight with the child at a hotel in Silver Springs, Md.

The musician described being surprised when his phone rang that night with the caller coming up as Duffy. Expecting to hear her voice, he found his daughter on the line, who he said told him that Duffy, 27, had hit her and that she was scared by her mother's behavior. He then had a conversation with Duffy, who he said cursed him out and said he was interfering with her relationship with the child.

Transeau has not been in custody of the girl since that night

54. Well we don't know the whole story here, maybe the mother felt she had to run with the child for the child's protection.

55. She ran with the child for the same reasons most fathers run, - putting their own welfare above the child's and kidnapping them. Acts like hers just prove which parent is the most stable...financially, psychologically, and emotionally. In this case it's evidently NOT her.

56. I chould have phrased it as "SOME fathers run".
Sorry for the exaggeration.

57. I SO HAPPY THAT THIS TURNED OK FOR A CHANGE. I THINK THEY MIGHT NEED BETTER SECURITY IN THE FUTURE. TAKE SOME NOTES FROM OTHERS LIKE KID ROCK AND TOMMY LEE AND EVEN THE MOVIES STARS.

59. DIDN'T YOU HEAR? THE CASE WAS THROWN OUT, AND IT IS DONE. IT WAS POSTED ON PAGE TWO OF THESE COMMENTS, TOO. WHY ARE YOU STILL TALKING ABOUT WHAT A BAD MOTHER SHE IS? SHE'S BEEN OUT OF THE SLAMMER, AND NOW, BT COULD POSSIBLE FACE JAIL TIME FOR CLAIMING FRAUDULAS (SP?) INFORMATION. HOW DO YOU PEOPLE WHO ARE ON BT'S SIDE LIKE THAT, NOW?

Posted at 7:51AM on Jan 17th 2008 by DIDN'T YOU HEAR?

60. We don't really know all the details of this particular case, but I always find it disturbing when a mother is arrested for "abducting" her own child. The whole story smacks of a young mother taking her daughter away from a bad situation. And the man with the tons of money is able to hire the best lawyers and get custody. The mother in this case may have felt desperate. I don't feel good about this story at all, and wish we knew more of the details.
