Paula's Super Show -- Straight Up Catastrophe?

Hyper-sentimental Paula Abdul is prepping for her big comeback gig at the Super Bowl -- but it looks like the whole thing could be a golden ticket to her biggest and most public meltdown yet!

A source close to Paula and familiar with preparations tells TMZ that it's going to be "a massive disaster" -- exact words -- and that the whole thing is a "bad, bad idea." The "AI" judgewreck has already lost her voice in rehearsals for the show, and we're told she isn't going to sing live in Arizona (duh). Her vocals, therefore, will be "enhanced." Pitchy keen!

Paula will "perform" her new single -- which is being produced by fellow "Idol" judge Randy Jackson, but we hear that people around her are wondering why she doesn't just stick to her old stuff, like "Straight Up" or "Cold Hearted Snake."

I wish her well and would love to see a comeback, besides her career spawned over a decade and we are still talking about her. Good Luck Paula, all these haters still bought your albums!!!

3. God you people are just horrible. She's sold over 50 mil albums and is a brilliant dancer and performer. and whoever said she's jealous of leona and terrie... why would she be they are both kinda ugly and terrie needs to hang on to simon for a career

7. Some people are just terrible. For someone who has not performed for 10+ years, I thought she was AWESOME! I loved it. Just a reminder to all the Paula haters out there ... Paula has sold over 50 mil albums, that just proves it all. Her new song is great & she was fantastic at the superbowl. Paula & Randy have done a wonderful job with this single. I wish Paula all the best & would love to see her come up with new songs. She's a fantastic dancer & performer. Go Paula!! You are the best. Don't let anyone bring you down, coz you are awesome! Love that you are a judge on American Idol too, coz the show would be so boring without you. Love you Paula! Keep up the good work. Best wishes & God speed.

8. All you people need to leave Paula alone. She's a hardworking sweet and compassionate woman who takes medication for all the pain she's in. She works so hard that she hardly ever sleeps and I think she's doing incredible for someone who goes on for weeks with little or no sleep. If you have half a brain... you should google and find out a little more about her past and all the pain her body has been through.... if any of you were taking pain meds with little or no sleep... i'm pretty sure you would have hit the floor way before paula ever will!!!! Rock on Paula---

13. Her new single she will sing is called "Dance Like There's No Tomorrow" off of her comeback album "Abdulmatic". They are also going to premier the music video for it during the preshow. She also supposedly might sing the new duet she recorded with Randy Jackson for his new album too..
