Paula's Super Show -- Straight Up Catastrophe?

Hyper-sentimental Paula Abdul is prepping for her big comeback gig at the Super Bowl -- but it looks like the whole thing could be a golden ticket to her biggest and most public meltdown yet!

A source close to Paula and familiar with preparations tells TMZ that it's going to be "a massive disaster" -- exact words -- and that the whole thing is a "bad, bad idea." The "AI" judgewreck has already lost her voice in rehearsals for the show, and we're told she isn't going to sing live in Arizona (duh). Her vocals, therefore, will be "enhanced." Pitchy keen!

Paula will "perform" her new single -- which is being produced by fellow "Idol" judge Randy Jackson, but we hear that people around her are wondering why she doesn't just stick to her old stuff, like "Straight Up" or "Cold Hearted Snake."

34. America idol is Britney spears before the melt down! It's melt down is coming as will because it is fake like Britney was. This show is what is fake about the music industry right now. A bunch of crazy no talented losers and a judge who is also a wreck!

35. See Paula's very best song and video, "My Love is For Real". It shot to #1 on Billboard's dance chart and climbed to #28 on the Hot 100. Stunning choreography and cinematography, great costumes, and an excellent song. It's Paula at her best.

39. Most of you musical listeners don't realize this ,but Paula was a one hit wonder. She was never an exceptional musical talent and was very lucky that (at that time) she was an exotic looking chic (Arabic) who could dance. The video music world was at its peak (at that time) and she looked good to the pop dance culture. Other then that , she had no true substance and core talent. Remember, Madonna ,Janet Jackson and Jody Watly were the top dogs.

To #7, "Dance Like There's No Tomorrow" IS the duet she recorded with Randy Jackson and is going to be the first single off the abum titled "Randy Jackson's Music Club Vol. 1," and not an album from Paula. The alleged "Abdulmatic" album is pure rumor, There has been no press release or anything for the alleged album. Never rely on Wikipedia for legitimate info.

44. As someone who encounters people with chronic pain in my line of work, I commend her for this. It's such a misunderstood and isolating condition that to have to live with it is challenging enough but to have to deal with it under public scrutiny is another matter altogether. My hat's off to her for having the courage to come out with a single when everyone seems intent on seeing her fail. Go on living your life and don't let all the negativity bring you down.

45. #28 Music professor: You say she was a one hit wonder. Yeah right!! She has had scores of hits: Straight Up, Cold-Hearted, Forever Your Girl, The Way That You Love Me, Kocked Out, Opposites Attract, Rush, Rush, Promise of a New Day, Blowing Kisses in the Wind, Vibeology, My Love is For Real, and Crazy Cool . Hardly a one-hit wonder!
