AP to Britney: We Have Your Obit Ready to Go!

Britney SpearsBritney Spears hasn't died, but the Associated Press has an obituary already written, should something happen to the "at-risk" former pop star.

TMZ spoke to AP Entertainment Editor Jesse Washington who confirmed the news. Washington told Us Weekly, "We would never wish any type of misfortune on anybody and hope that we would never have to use it until 50 years from now, but if something were to happen, we would have to be prepared."

It is not uncommon for news organizations like AP to have obituaries prepared for high-profile people -- the unusual thing is that they're usually prepped for the very sick or aged.

230. Pretty much every wire service does this, but it's unusual in a case like this. Usually it's for terminally ill celebs, or real old guys. But the shrinks have already said that suicide a is real possibility here, because she refuses to get help.

233. What is wrong with everyone. The Associated Press should be sued! What a bunch of idiots! And for the person on the comment page " Die britney die" , you should take your own advice or go to church! I have never heard, read and seen more crap in my life. It is time for people to move on. Britney needs to get help, save herself and start over. She is a beautiful person and needs to take care of herself and just let the rest go! If people would let it go, maybe she could do this. She needs to be left alone so that she can heal and be there for her children. That's all everyone should want for her, and nothing else. I pray for her everyday!

234. I Personally believe that Britt is at a wrecking point in her life,BUT it is no ones business. People should be allowed to have the career that they love and not have the media all up in their business every second of their life. Im not at all agreeing with her lifestyle!! but who are we to judge that....no one likes to be judged period. Do You realize how many people are suicidal, unfit parents, druggies, and yet no one the media doesnt care. I just think that people need to stop believing everything they see and here and I think people need to get a life.

240. If she goes I'm sure we will still have to suffer neverending stories about another pop star's life gone so wrong. . .and Amy, I'm not sure the AP cares that they've lost the respect of someone who exhibits poor spelling and grammar. Try "a lot" next time just for starters.
