Paps Busted After Crazy Britney Chase

TMZ has learned that four paparazzi were arrested for reckless driving last night after chasing Britney Spears' car around Mission Hills, Calif. -- and four more were pulled over for driving crazazy-like.


Around 11:20 PM last night, according to law enforcement sources, police pulled over a total of eight vehicles driven by photogs, after they were observed driving evasively at a high rate of speed and making dangerous lane changes in and around Mission Hills. Four of the drivers were arrested.

We're also told that Britney herself told cops that one of the cars may have tried to "run her off the road," but she couldn't ID which car it was, so no action was taken. Also, we spotted her going to Kitson -- the clothing store -- at 1:30 in the morning. Yes, she made them open up the store.

TMZ has also learned that cops were pleasantly surprised when Britney forked over a valid California driver's license.

18. This is so sad.......You know she has a illness...She needs to be treated like she does. It is a mental illness. Just like someone that has cancer or diabetes......This is a serious..serious...illness. it is not funny or amusing. What if this was your loved one. She needs help... Mental illness can happen to anyone at anytime..but usually to people under 40. I do hope she gets the help that she needs...Just like cancer if you go without chemo or surgery...you die......she will too if no one helps her...Thinking of her babies.....

20. 3. Someone needs to stop this. SHe CAN under California state law be committed to a mental institution if she is a danger to othrs or herself. YES, the paps are to blame, but she is going out into an ocean of sharks in an extremely UNSTABLE and mentally incapacitated state of mind. PLEASE SOME JUDGE ORDER HER TO BE COMMITED!

As long as she isn't driving, SHE isn't a danger to others. She can't see the kids, so she's no longer a danger to them. Unless she tries to kill herself, there's nothing anyone can do. Even if she does attempt suicide, it's highly unlikely they can hold her for over 72 hours. Britney has to want help, and obviously the people (Adnan) around her are telling her she's a-ok.

21. Oh please, yah the paps are morons but give me a break!! This "woman" knows full well they are there and will follow her like a pack of wolves, so why in the world, especailly with this custody issue, would she go out every single day to a drugstore and starbucks? It's called common sense, she has none. She lives for this crap, her actions prove that. Do I feel sorry for her, in some ways sure, but I also believe she brings a great deal of this on herself. When she begins to act responsibly all these problems will go away.

I'm actually tired of coming here every day for juicy gossip, only to find the first 10 or headlines are always crap like "Britney Drives!" "Britney Blinks!" "Britney Farts!" I want GOSSIP, not a real life version of "The Truman Show" starring Britney Spears.

If I owned a store and she wanted me to open up at 1:30 in the morning, I would tell her to go fly a kite, and I dont care how much money she would spend. That's just ridiculous. Celebrities need to learn that they are no better than us common folk, and people need to stop catering to them like that. I understand trying to give them a little extra service but opening up the store before/after hours like that is insane.

Glad that finally some paparazzi are being held accountable for their stupid antics. I am NO fan of Britney, and I dont own one single record of hers, but the paps are as much to blame for this stupidity as her. She is a basket case already, and this just adds more fuel to the fire. There is no reason to stalk anyone like that. They are going to end up causing a tragedy and I hope they will be held responsible for it when it happens.

29. Britney spears is crazy because of how hard she worked growing up. Her life wasnt normal and it was completely in the spotlight. The average person would go nuts constantly being chased like that. I think we need to root for her to get better so that her kids can be with her. They should do more to prevent this kind of paparazzi crush on celebs in the future. I think people need to focus on the paparazzi problem. I think the articles where there is a respectful amount of distance are better than when you have a video of a scared crazy celebrity.
