Paps Busted After Crazy Britney Chase

TMZ has learned that four paparazzi were arrested for reckless driving last night after chasing Britney Spears' car around Mission Hills, Calif. -- and four more were pulled over for driving crazazy-like.


Around 11:20 PM last night, according to law enforcement sources, police pulled over a total of eight vehicles driven by photogs, after they were observed driving evasively at a high rate of speed and making dangerous lane changes in and around Mission Hills. Four of the drivers were arrested.

We're also told that Britney herself told cops that one of the cars may have tried to "run her off the road," but she couldn't ID which car it was, so no action was taken. Also, we spotted her going to Kitson -- the clothing store -- at 1:30 in the morning. Yes, she made them open up the store.

TMZ has also learned that cops were pleasantly surprised when Britney forked over a valid California driver's license.

47. 42. To Elaine, if a person is being chased by a sworm of people whose only job is to get in the way ofcourse they are going to run!!! Duh!!! Don't you remember what happened to Princess Di. It was because of those leaches that she had to die. I am glad the cops finally did something about it.

I'm not a fan of celebrities or the Paparazzi, but one of these days somebody (whether it is a celebrity or not) is going to go nuts and pull a gun and shoot the hell out of these losers that continually stalk the celebrities. I don't like Rosie either, but I do agree with what she said - "The Pap's will be responsible for Britney's death some day soon. Yes she chose to have a singing and acting career, but does that mean they are not to have a personal life. For God Sake, she can't even go into a Pharmacy without you Fool's being there to take her picture! I've read comments where people have made fun of the idea that she might be killed at the hands of the Pap's..........what the heck is so funny about that? She may not have the best parents in the world, and she may not be the best Mommy, BUT the fact remains, she is someone's daughter, and she is the Mommy of these two little boys. The ignorance of some people really amazes me!

If anyone can be considered "impaired" it is she, and she shouldn't even be driving. Why doesn't she hire a driver and bodyguard? If she didn't want all the attention she'd move from the area, quit acting like a lunatic and get some serious mental help. She's a real menace to society!

I highly doubt she was driving. If she drives and does ANYTHING to endanger herself or others, the parents may be able to get a judge to get her psychologically evaluated.

59. Clearly anyone can see she has some serious mental health issues and I believe it is unethical for these photographers to hound her like this. This is only aggravating her current condition. I am amazed that Levin allows this from his staff. If its not his staff, then dont post or pay for footage. She needs help, of course she won't get it so those around her should not do anything that might cause a serious breakdown. I enjoy celebrity gossip but this hounding of her is unethical at this point due to her mental state.
