Actor Allan Melvin, best known to "Brady Bunch" fans as Sam the Butcher, boyfriend of Alice -- has gone to the big meat market in the sky.
Melvin died in Los Angeles on Thursday at age 84. He starred in old school hits like "The Phil Silvers Show" and "All in the Family" -- but will best be remembered as Ann B. Davis' meat makin' hottie.

Damn Sam! Why'd you's have to go off and die!
Alice, where would me to drop this huge load of meat?
The Brady's got the hook up when Alice was dating Sam. With a family as big as theres free meat was always welcom. RIP Melvin. You will live on forever in reruns.
The headline is uncalled for.....the man has family...show a little compassion....RIP
Am I wrong or did he play the Lion and Uncle In "The Wizard of Oz."?
I just read an obviously much classier synopsis of the man's life. And he had a tremendous career. Granted I'm of the generation that only knew him from Brady Bunch re-runs. Sounded like a great person. And married to the same woman for 64 years. Take note, young Hollywood, actually young people altogether. That is what you call commitment. They didn't pull a Halle Berry and buy each other what is essentially "friends with benefits" rings. They actually married and worked hard at it. Novel idea.
Kelli: He looks similar to that actor form Wizard but that was actually Bert Lahr.
