It's Not a Bad Dream: Suzanne Pleshette Dies

TV wife Suzanne Pleshette died at her home in Los Angeles last night at age 70, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Just last September, while undergoing treatment, she appeared at a 35th anniversary event celebrating "The Bob Newhart Show."

Suzanne was married in 2001 to "Newhart" actor Tom Poston, who died in 2007.

Pleshette got a really big break in 1963, when Alfred Hitchcock cast her in "The Birds." She married heartthrob Troy Donahue the following year. Her most unforgettable appearance, however, was in the classic final episode of "Newhart," when she rolled over and revealed that the whole show had been a dream.

33. As a young teen in 1970 I fell in love with Suzanne after seeing her on television. Then, over the years I saw everything she starred in, including the films and tv shows before 1970. Her voice and great beauty always did me in. And what a talented actress. There is absolutely no one like her. Certainly not in this generation of actresses. I miss her.

37. Thanks Suzanne for the laughs you gave me watching "The Newhart Show". I hear you fought this battle hard and doing so taking care of a termanilly ill husband. I think you must have had such a beautiful soul. You were always a strong lady and a good actress to boot. I remember you in "The birds" and thought you were so pretty and talented. You had the deepest voice and it was sooooooo sexy. RIP

40. She was the BEST !! That voice !! I remember all of her movies from the 1960s as my parents took me to them, how neat that she and James Garner were able to work together again so many years later .. although sad it was after John Ritter's death.

My question is WHY no mention of the late great Jeanne Carmen? She was a blast !! Shot straight from the hip that one did.

42. Isn't it strange how her husband died just last year and then she dies right after? It was the same with Christopher Reeve and his wife, Dana.

It's bizarre how that happens. Anyway, I always love Suzanne Pleshette. She was so gorgeous on "Coach". Now she can go be with Tom up in the sky. VERY sad.

Death happens in threes, right? Brad Renfro, Suzanne and Sam "The Butcher" from the Brady Bunch.

I am still hoping TMZ finds out the goods on Brad Renfros last days.

44. So what if she was a smoker!!! She was also 70 yrears old and enjoyed her life.........This is the average age for women to die - not because she was a smoker!!!
