Heath's Family: He Did Not Kill Himself

TMZ has been contacted by a rep from Heath's family. The cops told the family Heath's death was accidental and there is no evidence to support the buzz that he may have committed suicide.

They are particularly distraught over media reports that he may have taken his own life. The family says he was not that kind of person.

As we just reported, Heath was ill with pneumonia when he died.

46. "Accidental...?" does that mean accidental overdose? I mean...they found sleeping pills scattered all around the bed right? How does anyone...let alone a 28 year old....die of pneumonia in America today...? Especially a rich and famous movie star.......

47. So what he was naked when they found him...my husband always sleeps naked for some odd reason. If Ledger was sick he may have mixed too many meds together just like Anna Nicole...maybe he took some over the counter cold meds with prescription meds...yeah, that'll totally kill u...I know if I take tylenol cold & flu or nyquil it makes me feel dizzy and if I try sleeping it kinda makes me breathe funny...so if he took somethin like that (like a lot of it) with sleeping pills, then yeah, that'll do it....Sucks tho, he was a great actor, my prayers go out 2 his daughter & Family...it's hell what they're going thru right now....

What is with people committing suicide naked? I loved him but I don't believe that "he was not that kind of person."

49. 36) very true. I could be wrong. But the paprazzi is paid to follow celebs around and get all the dirt. If he had major substance abuse i'm sure we'd know about it or seen a picture or something of the sort. It's how Hollywood works. And your right..I haven't seen pictures of you abusing drugs or alcohol because..your not famous. No one is paid to follow your ass [no pun intended] around.

But we will all find out tomorrow the true story from the medical examiner.
Let's hope for the best..even though it still won't change the fact that he is no longer here.

53. 55) My point being though that even the news outlets and paparazzi were saying today how private and lay low he was and that even the breakup was low key. Just saying many people have many skeletons....Heath may have had a pretty big one that finally did him in..

56. The Daily Mail (in England) said he'd been fighting a drug addiction (including heroin) for a while now....and that he was especially depressed when his relationship with Michelle Williams blew up last fall. Man it's awful! God bless you Heath. RIP....

57. To the person that thinks if he had a drug problem, we'd know about. Many, many, many actors have substance abuse problems. Most are smart enough not to use in front of paps and generally keep it on the down low. That's why god invented publicists.

59. The guy scheduled an appointment with a masseuse and it was the masseuse and a housekeeper who found him dead. And according to news reports he was naked and face-down with pills scattered around him. Duh! Does that really sound like suicide? Sounds to me like he was preparing for his appointment, like someone who had a bottle of pills in hand and just dropped dead on the bed after getting out of the shower. My guess is that he had an underlying medical problem that triggered sudden death, probably an unknown medical problem. It happens a lot even to young people.

And another thing to look at is if the guy had been on a recent long haul flight. Sometimes within hours but usually within days of a long haul flight some people drop dead from the so-called "economy class syndrome," blood clots that form in the legs and can dislodge and travel to the brain or lungs and cause sudden death. It's a dirty little secret the airlines don't want people to associate with a sudden death days after a long flight. Something as simple as taking an aspirin before a long haul flight and an aspirin everyday for 2 or 3 days after the long flight can prevent those clots. Anyway, whatever the cause of death here, it sure does not sound like suicide.

60. After watching interviews where he talks about his daughter, I would be shocked to hear that he killed himself. She obviously meant the world to him. I'm especially sorry that his little girl now has to grow up without her dad, and I can't imagine how her mom will explain it to her.
