Inside the Building Where Heath Died

The Soho building on Broome St. where Heath Ledger died currently features an apartment for rent -- for only $23,000 a month.
421 Broome Street
So what does nearly $25K get you for 30 days? The 4,400 sq. ft., 3-bedroom, 2.5 bath loft features 15' ceilings, a fireplace, private balcony, central air, wood floors and a laundry room -- according to the real estate company, The Corcoran Group.

Neighbors tells us the building is supposed to be zoned specifically for artists -- meaning residents aren't allowed to move in unless they are approved by the city's Department of Cultural Affairs. But we're told that doesn't usually happen, and residents with deep pockets often get to move in instead.

16. This is more than a little ridiculous.
Have some respect, damn. The man just died, has a child, and you're going to post this crap?

Very little class on your part.

17. This is just bad taste. Not that I'd expect any better from TMZ.

18. $25K....that's $25,000. That can't be right. Maybe $250K? Even that seems kind of low.

19. Oh...per month? I was assuming it was a co-op.

20. TMZ where good taste went to die and a quick bung in the right place means someone makes a buck off the dead. Tacky, classless and the journalist talent of a steaming turd.

25. Manhattan is ground zero for the housing bubble. No real artist could afford to live anywhere around there. Poor Heath would have been better off staying in overpriced London.

30. Guess what all? When you sign on and take millions of dollars from the public, you belong to the public. When most of us die it won't be published news, but you know what? Heath and many others make the choice to have their every move displayed for all to see and know.

Get over it....TMZ has a right to earn a living off the ones that are making multi billion dollars a year off of us....

GOOD DAY!!
