(Page 2 of 3) Previous 15 Comments | 1 | 2 | 3 | Most Recent | Next 15 CommentsWe have lost a true talent and a little girl has lost her father far too young! My heart goes out to his family!!! His presence and talent are going to be sorely missed!!!!!!!!!
May your daughter never forget how much you loved her and may she always treasure your love and your memory.
R.I.P. and may God shine his light on your soul!
It is truly sad that his life was cut so short. He had everything to live for in his daughter. Now she wil grow up without him.
Don't forget the movie "A Knight's Tale".... and many more, like the one with Matt Damon, can't think of the name right now.
First I screamed and then I threw up. I just don't believe it! I was a 12 year-old girl when I first set eyes on Heath Ledger, a man only a year older than I (our birthdays are both in April too), when I saw him in ROAR. I had a speech impediment then so instead of telling people about him and the show (it sounded more like Waw coming from my mouth then) I carried around a color photo of him and his castmates I had torn from the TV Guide. I still have that photo in one of my photo albums. I told my parents one day I was going to marry him. I also told them that of Jonathan Brandis and River Phoenix, so you can imagine the disbelief I am in. Like many fans I have followed his career, I haven't missed a movie, including Brokeback Mountain which is highly controversial, especially for the religion I belong to. Even though I have been happily married for 8 years and have 4 beautiful children I had a pang when he was engaged to Michelle Williams but I quickly got over that pang when I saw how beautiful his daughter was and knew he was going to make a GREAT daddy! Now my heart has a pang for Michelle and Matilda. May God give them both relief of their sorrow and grief one day soon and I pray that they will feel Heath's spirit as I know he will be keeping watch over them both. TMZ - I hope you can come up with a much better tribute than this, no one deserves it more than Heath in his time. And someone please tell Christian Bale (the other actor I swore I was going to marry after seeing him in Newsies and Little Women) to stay inside safe and keep away from drugs for my heart can only hurt so much!
Other way to see his unexpected/expected death; he actually lived longer than: James Dean, Savannah, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Sid Vicious, Janis Joplin, Curt Cobain.
Thanks for "Brokeback Mountain," it´s a classic.
R.I.P. Heath, or should I say; Ennis del Mar (Ledger); He was a friend of mine.
He Was a Friend of Mine
He was a friend of mine
He was a friend of mine
Every time I think about him now
Lord I just can´t keep from cryin´
´Cause he was a friend of mine
He died on the road
He died on the road
He never had enough money
To pay his room or board
And he was a friend of mine
I stole away and cried
I stole away and cried
´Cause I never had to much money
And I never been quite satiesfied
And he was a friend of mine
He never done no wrong
He never done no wrong
A thousand miles from home
And he never harmed no one
And he was a friend of mine
He was a friend of mine
He was a friend of mine
Every time I hear his name
Lord I just can´t keep from cryin´
´Cause he was a friend of mine
Heath Ledger's loss was a tragedy it is particularly sad that he died at such a young age.
He was at the height of his movie career and the world was at his feet. My thoughts and
considerations go to his family, Michelle Williams, and their daughter Matilda Rose.
Rest in peace Mr. Heath Ledger...REST IN PEACE! It is a terrible thing to hear of this gentlman's death at such a young age. He was just getting to know is place in fame. And beginning to enjoy his success...My prayers from North Carolina go out to his family and his daughter, Matilda. I only hope he did not suffer and he went in peace. My Hollywood never forget what they had lost. And may his family and daughter never forget the Icon and role model he gave to many of his fans in this world.....
There has been such an outpour of sympathy and mourning for the loss of this extraordinary young man. And it is so well deserved. Not only was he a brilliant actor, he was a gentle man who was true to his art. He lived his life privately, and intentionally avoided the Hollywood glitter and media attention. He will be remembered and missed by many.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. May he rest in peace.
Heath Ledger is one actor I greatly admired and respected. He gave audiences moments that were not only unforgettable, but enlightened as well. When we lose such an artist as this, it's a loss for us all.
Rest in peace.
MIchelle, MIltilda and Heaths family.and friends in the entertainment world as well as personal friends...may you be able to celebrate Heaths life and remember Heaths laugh, how he sat watching reading a script, drinking a coffee, playing on the floor, or carrying his daughter, or giving advice, or while driving around, just trying to be the regular Joe he missed being. Remember the smells of working hard, scents of colonge, the way he would eat or just sit there and watch you. Embrace all of those feelings now...and smile ..let yourself smile..let your self cry...let yourself live knowing you had the ultimate privelage of knowing heath, in his prime, in his vunerablity, in his dreams and in all of his compassions.for life, for acting, for loving and for being a son, a father. a friend and a husband From our Family the Johnstones, via edmonton alberta- to all of you..our hearts are with you. I just watched Knight's Tale the other night - how sad that Matilda will never know the wonderful, funny, intelligent, and intense man who was her father. My heart goes out to his family and Michelle. He did a lot in his short life here. A reminder to all of us to live life fully and wtih intent every day.
A TRUE artisit...... in every sense of the word..... we live in times where the are so many fake "artists" but..... once in a great while, an artist come along that shines so brightly that it seems like every star dims slightly within their presence..... Heath was that star/artist...... though he did not have as big body of work like some of his peers..... his work exceeded theirs because of his sheer talent & hard work..... from independents movies such as "Candy" to his more well-known features like "The Partriot"..... he was what all artists wished we were..... Captivating, powerful, & daring..... He will forever be known as a genuine risk-taker.... one of the truly GREAT actors of our generation..... He will NOT be remembered as our generations "River Phoenix" nor will he be our "James Dean"...... He will be remembered by our generation as who he is: Heath Ledger..... A TRUE ARTIST..... in EVERY sense of the word..... Rest in peace Heath & thank you so much for everything you gave to us on film & for all the memories you have left to us..... Michelle, your beautiful daughter, & your loving family will ALWAYS be in our hearts & prays..... this is not a goodbye, but rather just a mere see you later.....
No one has mentioned that he was also in Lords of Dog Town. If you haven't seen it, it's a great movie. Heath was a great actor. I haven't seen Brokeback, but I've loved him in everything else I've seen him in. He was awesome.
I was shocked yesterday to hear that one of my favourite actors passed away.
I loved so many of his films, there was something truly magnetic about him on screen. I really believed he'd be the next Brando.
I actually saw him once in Rome. I was 17 on an art trip. He walked passed me on the street, immediately my heart jumped and i froze. I couldn't even speak to my friends who were walking ahead of me and suddenly i managed to say "girls, i swear that was Heath Ledger." His hair was shorter and I didn't imagine him to be so tall...my friends took off running to see if it was him. He ducked into store outside of a little piazza. We stared into thestore but I insisted that it couldn't have been him since we were in Rome in March and that most italian guys are good looking..... He was looking back however. When I saw his film the Order i was kicking myself that I didn't trust my inital instinct....
Prayers to his family and his little girl who will never get to truly know her father.
