Ringo: P.S. I Don't Care

One of the two surviving Beatles, Ringo Starr, was in a pissy mood last night -- refusing to stop for photos or sign a single autograph in New York.

Though autograph seekers tried to get a rise out of the former moptop by shouting, "Sign for the dead people, sign for Martin Luther King," the Beatle stonewalled them all -- shouting and pushing his way through the crowd.

16. Maybe Ringo just wanted to be left alone, he has that right, If Ringo dosen't want to sign, he dosen't have too.
God only knows how many times he has signed his name in the last 40+ years. GO RINGO!!!!

17. I agree with Ringo. Anyone who shouts at a celebrity should not get an autograph or a picture. I agree COMPLETELY about being wary after what happened to John Lennon. That was back when the paparazzi was on a leash!

18. Yeah, I don't blame him at all. Those guys were ***in vultures, loud, rude and obnoxious. I would've done the same thing. In fact, I think he was too nice to them.

21. For the record (no pun intended), not everyone who collects an autograph sells it. That's just commen sense.
Also, many, many people who are under 50 listen and buy his music.
I am a huge Ringo fan and I feel bad for those he can not say "Hello" to. But this is the reality, so we've got to go with it.
On the other hand, sometimes he does stop to say "Hello". All in a day's work.

22. Ringo has been clean & sober for a long time now. His behavior lately is reminiscent of those days. I hope I'm wrong but if I'm not, I hope he seeks help. At his age, there are no comebacks!

25. Personally I always thought the Beatles were over-rated and I grew up in that era. Ed Sullivan was right they needed their hair cut. Why doesn't Ringo just retire to Florida where he belongs? These guys helped turn an entire generation into filthy stoned hippies. The one with the most songwriting talent is the one who was shot and that was a terrible shame.

26. if someone ask me to sign for the dead,i would run to,i love ringo and the so called fans were shouting and stalking him,it was his right to get the hell out of there, that was no way to ask for his autograph, pushing things in his face...and he dont have to care....he has all the money he will ever need.....i say leave him alone

Posted at 7:50PM on Jan 22nd 2008 by sorry for you

27. PS...

I've seen trained monkeys that can keep a beat at least as good as Ringo ever did with the Beatles. Sorry if you "fans" don't like to hear the truth that Mr. Starkey was/is a pretty lame drummer by all accounts. Ringo should count his blessings to even have been able to have been able to join along for the "ride" with those other guys who actually had talent. Ringo has to be about the luckiest man on earth and a bit of gratitude to the "little" people that have kept him so well over the years would not go amiss. Even a smile doesn't take that mu ch effort, does it?

28. As far as the public "giving Ringo a nice comfortable life", if we "the public" hadn't wanted to pay for the most wonderful, versatile and most beautifully inspiring music in the world, then the Beatles would not have acquired the comfortable life that they 've so rightfully deserved.

The Beatles gave so much of themselves to the public in their younger years and now there are only two of these icons left.
Ringo seemed very polite by waving hello and acknowledging everyone. I have to honor the fact that he's not interested in hogging the spotlight. We love you Ringo and Paul. You're the best!

29. THERE WOULDN'T BE ANY ALBUMS, THERE WOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN THE BEATLES, AND ALL THE MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS OF DOLLARS THAT PAUL, RINGO AND THE ESTATES OF JOHN AND GEORGE CONTINUE TO EARN EACH YEAR IF IT HADN'T BEEN FOR THE FANS!!! REMEMBER THAN YOU CELEBRITIES - YOU'RE NOTHING WITHOUT YOUR FANS WHO BASICALLY PAY YOUR SALARY!! AT LEAST JOHN WAS ALWAYS GRACIOUS AND ON THE LAST DAY OF HIS LIFE WAS STILL GRACIOUS TO HIS FANS AND UNFORTUNATELY THAT MURDERING ANIMAL, MARK DAVID CHAPMAN. COME ON RINGO - GROW UP ALREADY!!!
