That just goes to show you. I dont know why they dont think like us. Why would we go to see a show under the influence like that. If he was truly under the influence. My 29 year old just recently passed away in his sleep from Heart problems. I am sure the family is asking themselves why.

Ok people. Get a clue. These are not all prescribed drugs. They also found rolled up twenty dollar bills with white powder substance on them. He was snorting some powder too. You know most famous people die from overdoses. It's no big mystery. They get money, then they get greedy, and they feel the need to do drugs.

Well, nothing knew about a celebrity dying by accidental overdose or otherwise, it is written in the celebrity handbook after all that if you don't die of old age than you must die of an overdose, those are the rules!

very opinionated about heath

everytime you state something the police turn around and say your wrong so who are your sources you always say a police source but its never right and when they tell the world your wrong you wont correct it .I think yall just like too print up anything too make yall look good n make the deceased look bad you need too check your facts with the NYPD before you print your info. you are slandering the name of a wonderful actor and hes not even able to defend himself i think is despicable to slander the dead. yall need to have some respect for him and his family not to mention his daughter because later in life shes gonna want to know about daddy and you dont think your crap wont be in an archive somewhere for her too read she shouldnt have to read lies about her daddy its bad enough she has to live without him and read the truth later that daddy died at a very young age JUST HAVE SOME RESPECT IF NOT SOME SELF RESPECT AT LEAST HAVE SOME FOR A 2 YEAR OLD LITTLE GIRL and his remaining family he was a wondreful actor who doesnt deserve this disrespect all she should have to know is her daddy loved her very much and he was a wonderfull actor one of the best

"My heart is broken for his family. Remember....he was someone's son, father, friend, hero. He was loved. We all should be so lucky. So quit judging. " by SaraBella

I'm just sayin

Poor Ledger-his work was sooo hard-try working in a factory for 40 years supporting a family and still maintaining high morals (most of you will have to look that one up).

and the high morals worker in the factory has a chest in the basement with a wig and a dress, hidden away for "special occasions". Your point?

he wasn't a druggie......
he most likely overdosed by accident on ambien......... I bet his
family knew he took sleeping pills too..
I bet he took 4 or 5 pills back to back and fell into coma......and
passed away.......or he snorted a handful to get sleep
---------------
read the people magazine article and you will come to believe it was
sleeping pills too

----------------------
New York's Washington Square Park is sometimes a haven for the stray
homeless to get some shut-eye, curled up on a bench somewhere. For
Heath Ledger, it was a place to roam while sleep evaded him.

"He would walk early in the morning – around 6:30 a.m. or 7," says
retired city-worker Tony Rivera, 52, who walks his dog in the park
each day at that time, "because, he said, he always had trouble
sleeping. That's why he'd come out so early in the morning."

Once in a while, Ledger, 28, would watch the early-morning chess
players in action – sometimes even joining them. He often talked
about his daughter, says Rivera, who struck up a chat with the actor
during one of his sleepless strolls. "He said it was a great thing,
being a dad."

But Ledger's friendly banter with park locals was always punctuated
by one recurring complaint: "He'd say, 'I'm very tired,' " Rivera
recalls, "and he looked it."

Ledger, the type of actor who immersed himself in his film roles,
spoke in a recent interview about how work-related stress gave him
insomnia. During the shooting of his last completed film, The Dark
Knight, Ledger told The New York Times in November that he often took
the prescribed sleeping aid, Ambien, in an attempt to coax himself
into a slumber.

"Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night," he told
The Times. "I couldn't stop thinking. My body was exhausted and my
mind was still going." Ledger continued to say that taking one pill
had no effect on him. He'd have to take second to fall asleep, only
to awake an hour later with his "mind still racing."

Partying Until Sunrise
Ledger's reported hard-partying drinking at all hours of the night
may have been another way for him to try and self-medicate himself to
sleep. "He partied a lot," one friend of Ledger's told PEOPLE. "He
didn't really stop partying. At nights when I was going home, he was
just starting. He was part of the New York scene." Another club
regular recalls that Ledger would arrive at Manhattan lounge, The
Beatrice Inn, at 3:30 a.m., "and he never left until sunrise."

But not home to sleep, it seems. Instead, Ledger would be out for a
walk in the park and perhaps he'd play a groggy game of chess with
strangers. "He didn't seem to be such a good chess player," recalls
Rivera, "but I'm not sure ..."

Ledger, perhaps, wasn't interested in winning or losing. He was just
trying to calm his "racing" mind so he could once and for all get
some sleep as the rest of the city woke up.

IF HE WAS BLACK,IT WOULD BE CALLED AN APPARENT SUICIDE,BUT SINCE HE IS A WELL-LNOWN AND LOVED 'WHITE' ACTOR, IT IS AN ACCIDENTAL O.D.

#210, you need to check your facts. They found a $20 with no drug residue and an autopsy brought up nothing. Stop jumping to conclusions.

Either way, for everybody's information, you can also die from NOT taking Xanax or Valium. If you have a dependency - and that depends on a person to person basis how much it might actually be - you can't just quit cold turkey without potentially risking serious injury or death. Something to consider since there is no evidence one way or the other, besides the one concrete fact that he had pills in his apartment.

First, the initial autopsy would have shown if he died from pneumonia. Since it is inconclusive, it was not from pneumonia. Bloodwork is being done to show which meds were in his system, how much of each, etc.
