Medicines Found in Heath's Apartment

TMZ has confirmed two of the medications found at Heath Ledger's apartment were Xanax and Valium, both anti-anxiety drugs. Cops also found Ambien, along with several medications prescribed in Europe.

Heath's body has since been transported from the Medical Examiner's office to the Campbell Funeral Home in NY.

77. They DID NOT find baggies with white powder..... There were no illegal drugs found in his home!
It is all premature to even conclude that he was on anything other than prescribed medicines.
Let him rest in peace at this point does it matter, a man has died and child with out a father, family without a son, brother and many people who loved him are now without a friend.
REST IN PEACE HEATH YOU WERE LOVED MY MANY! THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES AT THE GREAT TIME OF SADNESS!
MUCH LOVE TO HEATH!

79. I am so very very sad and distraught. Heath Ledger was a serious artist with great talent. When you look at his Human Design chart you can see why he was so burnt out and agitated. He stood in for authenticity, sensitivity, humbleness and serenity. What saddens me the very most is that he was all alone in his final hours. For me he is a James Dean of our times, even greater. All my sympathy goes out to his family and loved ones- we all lost a great soul.

80. Everyone take a deep breath........... A lot of people, A LOT, have the same medications in their house. I know what stress, insomnia, prescription meds (even when used as directed) and pneumonia can do to a person.....

81. ISN'T ZANAX JUST THE BRAND NAME FOR VALUIM,I THOUGHT THEY ARE THE SAME DRUG?

82. This is just so sad, he was a young man, with a young child and he was just needing some rest and sleep. He had already stated that he was only sleeping a couple of hours a night. Anyone who has ever had a sleeping problem for any length of time knows how desperate someone can become.

83. It's so sad to see another young and promising actor gone. To his family and friends my prayers are with you. Especially his 2 year old daughter who will never know her father. No matter the cause of death, he should be remembered as a great actor and an obviously loving father. Everyone makes mistakes at times.
I agree with some of the other posts about prescriptions. You never know for sure if a doctor has really thought about the side affects it will cause with other medicines. No one is perfect.

84. Heath Ledger was a GREAT actor and person. He had the heart and courage to do things that no one else would tackle. I am truly at a loss for words to say hay sad this is and how sorry I am for his family and friends. Prescription drugs mean NOTHING, a "rolled up" twenty means NOTHING. All you "HOLIER THAN THOU" people need to look at yourself and your own family before you are so quick to JUDGE. He will be missed and remembered.
God Bless him......

85. Maybe he snorted the Ambien or even injected it. This is the first time I've heard of it but I don't use drugs like these. There are other ways to help fall asleep than drugs.

86. I pray for his family and friends. Hollywood life can give people all sorts of complexses. Imagine never being left alone, and every move you make is up for speculation. That would probably explain the anti anxiety meds...not to mention his break up with whats her face...he was devistated....I doubt he did it on purpose and I doubt he was abusing....His jerk doctor probably neglected to tell him not to mix certain meds.....I see a lawsuit coming from the family...

87. H-e-ll-o what ever heppened to reports about Heath Ledger having pneomonia???? Just curious..why drugs seem to be the main focus if this person was supposedly ill with pneumonia...and would this be "Walking pneomonia"..if so it can definately kill a 28yr old if gone untreated. I can also confirm that anxiety/panic disorder does not help when sick with a respiratory disease...anxiety increases the heart rate and shortness of breath is huge..so I am just wondering what the story is with this pnemonia business and why havent the NEWS REPORTERS mentioned it AT ALL???

The only time I heard about it was from this website. Is it another phony story or what?????? TMZ, please ease my mind.

89. #9 Sonia...I agree...I was thinking something along the same lines as it having something to do with the pneumonia and Rx's. Though I'd also have to add that the Ambien could have made him act erratic and maybe he took more than he should of...that's a wicked drug. All those reports of sleep driving, etc. are so true, as I've had those same effects (so I asked my doctor for something else)...if you don't go to bed right away, it makes you feel kind of drunk and have memory loss. Top that off with being ill and I think that's a possibility. And other than the Xanax, I've had all of those things in my medicine cabinet (along with several narcotics and other sleeping pills)...all of which were prescribed by one doctor. So, it's not that abnormal to have things like that...and if you have a sleeping disorder, it's really common to be prescribed things like Valium and Atavan (Lorazapam) along with it. It's just hard when everything you take doesn't work (and not necessarily due to abuse, medications work different on different people, some things may knock out one person and have no effect on another)...so you keep taking what is prescribed hoping it will work...very frustrating. Not everyone who is prescribed a variety of medications like those takes them every day...remember, they said there were still pills in the bottles...and it doesn't sound like they were in crazy Anna Nicole Smith dosages and amounts.
I certainly think it had something to do with being sick along with the meds. I just feel really bad for his family, his ex and their daughter. Poor baby is only 2 and now will never get to see her daddy again. I just hope the press doesn't mob Michelle Williams and the baby when they arrive in NY.

90. you know, he could have rolled up the 20 due to a nervous habit or snorted the xanax or valuim.

Or, even better, the coke head that dropped the $20 was someone from the Ambulance or one of the people that found him.

It sounds more like a complication from the pneumonia and sleeping pills. Those suckers are dangerous.
