R.I.P.
Money in Ledger's Apartment Being Tested

UPDATE: Cops in New York say the rolled-up $20 bill did not appear to have any drug residue on it -- but they are in the process of testing it.

TMZ has confirmed with NYPD sources in the Heath Ledger investigation that cops found a $20 bill rolled up "in a certain way" with a powdered substance on it. Our sources say they don't know what the nature of the powder is, but it's being tested at the police lab.

CBS 2 in NYC is reporting cops found drug packets along with the $20 bill in Ledger's apartment.

Our sources say the manner in which the bill was rolled made them "suspicious."

167. fdroid i think you need to lay off...beside some people reading your comment's probably feel the same for you!!

Heath Ledger will be remembered as an amazing actor not what he may have or may not have done prio to his death. Even if the man was using drugs take a look around at the public pressures. We all admit im sure that it was a waste...and im sure we all feel the same for many others that have past the same way. But dont ever let that take away the fact that he was great a very sucessful 28y.o. Besides everyone has good and bad points. Are you perfect?

170.
from the doctor or from the streets

drugs are drugs

all of them can be abused

you can get a lot of the same effects of illegal drugs from legal drugs, it's just that a prescription is more acceptable because a man in a white coat gave them to you and not a man with a gold tooth

stop being so naive

171. Hey....retards, is TMZ your only source of info for real world? The police Commissioner has already stated, several hours ago actually, that there were no illegal drugs of any kind found in his apartment. You're all going to feel like the dumba$$es you really are when reports come back stating no illegal drugs were involved at all!
Now put that in your crackpipes and suck on it! Freaking losers!

173. Update: No drugs found on the bill ... nice jumps to conclusion guys

Not even sure where TMZ heard that there was powdered substance on the bill and empty clear drug packets near the bill ... not true .. although they decided to air that info on their Fox show even after it was made known there were no drugs found on the bill .. nice job TMZ

.. and Fabio .. Mary Kate Olson didn't own the apartment he was found in

174. The associated press is reporting that the police have said that they found a rolled up bill with NO drug residue on it but they are still sending it for testing. Also there were NO drug packets found in the apartment. For all you people on here that are claiming heroin and drugs, your going to feel like a jack*** when the results come back that he died of a heart attack. Then it will be you going to hell.

178. TMZ...what's up ... in your quest to scoop the competition you're constantly printing stories that may or may not be substantiated. Then 30 minutes later you have to print a blurb opposite of what was originally disclosed. It's ridiculous! Just cuz you're first doesn't mean you're right!!!!!

180. "A rolled-up $20 bill found near Ledger's body has tested negative for drug residue."
http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/01/24/2145537.htm

I guess that this makes this story just that - a sensationalised story without any truth.
