Money in Ledger's Apartment Being Tested

UPDATE: Cops in New York say the rolled-up $20 bill did not appear to have any drug residue on it -- but they are in the process of testing it.

TMZ has confirmed with NYPD sources in the Heath Ledger investigation that cops found a $20 bill rolled up "in a certain way" with a powdered substance on it. Our sources say they don't know what the nature of the powder is, but it's being tested at the police lab.

CBS 2 in NYC is reporting cops found drug packets along with the $20 bill in Ledger's apartment.

Our sources say the manner in which the bill was rolled made them "suspicious."

168. I've been in Australia for 50 years and I've never heard of this actor? Who the hell is he? So he died from drugs. Big deal. Millions of people die every day from drugs and hundreds of thousands die from doctors errors and choking on their donuts. He had a good life, a housekeeper, a masseur etc etc, He probably had someone to wipe his but as well. I hope he has been dragged into hell and is being tortured by Satan for all his wicked ways.

172. TMZ...what's up ... in your quest to scoop the competition you're constantly printing stories that may or may not be substantiated. Then 30 minutes later you have to print a blurb opposite of what was originally disclosed. It's ridiculous! Just cuz you're first doesn't mean you're right!!!!!

174. Strange it says on here that there was a powdered substance on the $20 - not quite what the NYPD said. They said that there was no visible sign of drugs on the money but they were sending it to be tested. Where is this info coming from? Let's not place judgement until the ACTUAL report comes out! TMZ - maybe you should make sure your sources are
correct before making these grand annoncements.

180. Some people who have written comments need to learn about respect for the deceased.. Heath was not one of those actors seen constantly on the news because he was doing drugs... (eg. Amy Winehouse)... I don't think he was a drug user
