Money in Ledger's Apartment Being Tested

UPDATE: Cops in New York say the rolled-up $20 bill did not appear to have any drug residue on it -- but they are in the process of testing it.

TMZ has confirmed with NYPD sources in the Heath Ledger investigation that cops found a $20 bill rolled up "in a certain way" with a powdered substance on it. Our sources say they don't know what the nature of the powder is, but it's being tested at the police lab.

CBS 2 in NYC is reporting cops found drug packets along with the $20 bill in Ledger's apartment.

Our sources say the manner in which the bill was rolled made them "suspicious."

61. Cocaine, popping pills now contributed to his death. What a dumbass he was. Didn't Michelle leave him because of his drug habit?

63. I don't care if it was cocaine or whatever. Plenty of people have addictions to many things. He didn't deserve to die. This is tragic, heartbreaking and even as a drug overdose, I am certain it was accidental, he had too much going for him with his career and little girl, there is no way he would have intentionally taken his own life.

64. I know I can speak for myself, but I am sure many many MANY of us have at one time or another used illegal drugs. Even if you haven't used meth or coke, etc. I am sure you have "at one point in your life" used prescription narcotics, sleeping pills, etc.

It doesn't make us bad people, or "losers", and is surely doesn't mean that we couldn't have died just the same as this guy did. It's a miracle I made it through my 20's, to be honest.

He's still dead, there is a 2 year old that will NEVER know her father, an actor that was "different" than the normal loud obnoxious ones nowadays is dead, and a set of parents are grieving.

HOW he died really doesn't matter at this time, he's dead and spreading rumors about him isn't going to help his family at this time of grieving.

I've snorted plenty of coke in my early days.....and smoked pot, snorted meth, popped pills, took prescription downers and uppers and narcotics....but I'm not a loser druggie.....it was all while going through a very hard time in my life and searching for myself. I found myself and moved on with my life, and I am stronger for my experiences.

He always seemed to be a lost soul, or a bit troubled/serious. Some souls are troubled, and are not meant to be on earth for long. I hope his soul has found peace and is in a better place if there is one.

66. I think it is sad, but unfortunetly an all true story in Hollywood. Maybe some day people(studios, agents) will look at all the times this has happened and try to help these young people deal with fame and what comes with it. Way to many young actors and actressses die because no one was there to help them. Its a shame a good actors life wasted. I mourn for his daughter who will never know her father because all that will be reemembered is how he died not how he lived.

69. Drug habit came before his daughter. Looks like he loved the drug habit more. Plus, the poor guy didn't get any help from family or friends.

71. what i really hate about this is all the fake people who pretend to be his friends ???

some idiot gossip reporters on cnn, fox. tmz all say that this guy was depressed.... They weren't his real friends..
what right do all these idiots have to say anything at all about his life condition???
I hope when the medical examiner finds it wasn't illegal drugs that his family does a interview with larry king or someone and tells the truth about this talented young man......

Only his family and true friends have any idea of his true condition...........

TMZ needs to be stopped seriously.......... they post all this misleading, fake stories on here....

73. I can't feel sorry for anyone who chooses drugs. It's a deathtrap and they know it. Eventually they can't stop and it gets worse. As soon as I heard a healthy 28 year old actor died I said DRUGS! Just like everyone else did I'm sure.

74. BFD - Most $20s and larger demoninations of U.S. currency have traces of cocaine on them. Not exactly conclusive evidence.

75. The Autopsy was inconclusive. If there was Cocaine or other inhaleable narcotics within his system the initial toxicology screen would have come up positive. The report being non-conclusive means it has to go to a lab that can do a complete toxicology analysis of his blood and bodily fluids. This means that everything from antibiotics to what he ate for lunch to what he may have had in his fat cells for extended periods will be determined.

Drug overdosing would be immediately detected without the need for sending off to a lab.

Cocaine and other Schedule 1 narcotics stays in the blood stream. With his body being found on his bed the likelyhood his body had processed the toxins within such a short time frame is ZERO.

Do the world a favor and get an applied sciences education. Spend more time educating yourself and less time gossiping.
