Money in Ledger's Apartment Being Tested

UPDATE: Cops in New York say the rolled-up $20 bill did not appear to have any drug residue on it -- but they are in the process of testing it.

TMZ has confirmed with NYPD sources in the Heath Ledger investigation that cops found a $20 bill rolled up "in a certain way" with a powdered substance on it. Our sources say they don't know what the nature of the powder is, but it's being tested at the police lab.

CBS 2 in NYC is reporting cops found drug packets along with the $20 bill in Ledger's apartment.

Our sources say the manner in which the bill was rolled made them "suspicious."

76. Drug habit came before his daughter. Looks like he loved the drug habit more. Plus, the poor guy didn't get any help from family or friends.

79. what i really hate about this is all the fake people who pretend to be his friends ???

some idiot gossip reporters on cnn, fox. tmz all say that this guy was depressed.... They weren't his real friends..
what right do all these idiots have to say anything at all about his life condition???
I hope when the medical examiner finds it wasn't illegal drugs that his family does a interview with larry king or someone and tells the truth about this talented young man......

Only his family and true friends have any idea of his true condition...........

TMZ needs to be stopped seriously.......... they post all this misleading, fake stories on here....

80. I cannot believe all you people are so quick to Judge. Maybe he had a problem - no need to resort to calling ANYONE a "Druggie!" Addiction is a REAL issue, it effects A LOT of people. It does not make him a bad person - the amazing thing is before this came out with the "dollar" - everyone was commenting how great Heath was, now he's a "druggie?' What the hell is wrong with you people - so quick to Judge. Let him rest in peace and allow his daughter to have some dignity.

81. The Autopsy was inconclusive. If there was Cocaine or other inhaleable narcotics within his system the initial toxicology screen would have come up positive. The report being non-conclusive means it has to go to a lab that can do a complete toxicology analysis of his blood and bodily fluids. This means that everything from antibiotics to what he ate for lunch to what he may have had in his fat cells for extended periods will be determined.

Drug overdosing would be immediately detected without the need for sending off to a lab.

Cocaine and other Schedule 1 narcotics stays in the blood stream. With his body being found on his bed the likelyhood his body had processed the toxins within such a short time frame is ZERO.

Do the world a favor and get an applied sciences education. Spend more time educating yourself and less time gossiping.

82. BFD - Most $20s and larger demoninations of U.S. currency have traces of cocaine on them. Not exactly conclusive evidence.

83. I can't feel sorry for anyone who chooses drugs. It's a deathtrap and they know it. Eventually they can't stop and it gets worse. As soon as I heard a healthy 28 year old actor died I said DRUGS! Just like everyone else did I'm sure.

85. Attn: Reality Check - Thank you for your comment, I too was going through a really hard time earlier in life and used drugs - I am in recovery now and I have a wonderful life today. Addiction is a disease that never leaves your side - people are ignorant to it and that's a shame. Heath was a great actor and many people loved him. Like I said before, Live and Let Live - let his daughter have some dignity.

87. It's not known what was in his system by an autopsy! Look at Anna Nicole Smith! And everyone knew what she was doing!

89. Did they find coke in his system?

The dude was murdered and it was set up to look like he took major drugs.

Who lies face down at the foot of their bed anyway? And as cold as it is, why would he be naked?

Life in the fast lane attracts many undesirables.....
