Troubled rockwreck Pete Doherty was approached in Germany about Heath Ledger's death -- and the only response he could muster (after being told it was probably drug related) was to blankly stare and genuflect. Perhaps he was considering his own wayward path.
Watch as the news hits Pete -- perhaps a little too close to home.

If you watch the video again Pete thinks Heath died because of a TRUCK not drugs. Listen to him right after the reporter or photographer tells him how Heath died, in fairness to Pete the person telling him the news didn't exactly sound like he said the word drugs.
I guess he was just glad it was not him...and you are right, Amy, people have no idea what genuflect means...morons!
Did that reporter say heath ledger died from trucks?????????? TRUCKS???
I heard the reporter say truck and pete repiled ----- TRUCKS...
They obviously need a reporter/ camera guy with better english speaking skills...... who can say D-R-U-G-S
The stupid papparazi have no right to say it was drugs.............
As already mentioned, he's not genuflecting, he's crossing himself, which is what all respectful Catholics do when they hear of a death, especially a unexpected and premature one.
Did they even know each other? I am not a fan of Pete but if he did not know Heath Ledger then why should be upset over his death? I mean, come on now. I saw a few movies he did but I am not going to over react to his death and act like we were best buds.
genuflect also means to show respect
maybe the tmz staff thought it was when he did that catholic cross crap on his chest?
you know...Pete actually looks sober
Why ask Peter? Ledger was Aussie and Pete's a Brit. What an odd question to ask him.
Good wishes to Peter for continuing his battle against his addictions. He's looking healthy. Hang in there.
Pete did not genuflect, he blessed himself. In the name of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit - it's a prayer and a blessing for Heath's soul.
