Where is Jake Gyllenhaal?

Jake GyllenhaalJake Gyllenhaal has yet to be seen or heard from since the death of his close friend, Heath Ledger -- and people on the set of his new film are working hard to keep it that way.

Gyllenhaal is in New Mexico, currently filming his new movie, "Brothers." We're told there are no plans to shut down production, but Jake is very upset and doesn't want to talk to the media -- so the set has been closed to non-crew members and extra security has been hired.

Jake is the godfather to Heath's daughter, Matilda Rose.

92. Why do you people care so much? None of you knew him personally. And along with that, 40 homeless people died this past weekend because it was the coldest weekend of the winter. What do you have to say about that?

94. Some people grieve their own way. I'm sure he's gonna be by Michelle and Matilda's side sooner or later. Why would he ignore them at this time? Especially his God Daughter.

95. Don't even think about harassing Jake. If he needs to talk about this publically, I am sure his people know how to get in contact with you. Give it a rest!

96. That is so not fair. They should shut down production of that movie so that he can be allowed to morn. It's like they are keeping him in this little bubble, where he can't even feel the pain of his very close friends death. I understand that they want him to be in a "actor" state of mind, but God damn! The people on the set of this movie and the producers are being very selfish. It's like "ok Jake, Heath's dead, but you can't cry or react, until after we wrap ok? Action!" That sucks!

97. its sad what will be said in the name of God! the Bible says that God is our only judge and will judge us in the end....so the that church group should prepare themselves for the end when God will judge them for using his name to hurt others...my heart goes out to michelle, matilda, jake and family and friends....a great talent has been lost but will never be forgotten

98. I'm so sad about the passing of Heath Ledger, but I can only imagine the pain his family and friends are feeling. And I'm certain his friend Jake Gyllenhaal is devistated and should be left alone by the press. The family's request for privacy during this time of grief should be respected. Rest in peace, Heath. You are loved and you will be missed.

99. Jake should be left alone in regards to the passing of his friend. He has no obligation to the media to make a statement. It should be obvious that he is grieving and should be allowed to do so as should Heath's family, friends and Matilda. They've suffered a huge loss and should be allowed to deal with it in private.

Rest in peace Heath. My sympathy goes out to your family and friends. May God watch over you and them.

100. Dear Jake,
First of all, my condolences to you and Heath's Family. The hardship of losing such a great friend is unimaginable. I have lost quite a bit myself, In regards to your actions I myself would do the same, you have the right to your privacy. I hope that this loss will make you stronger in this type of situations. Heath's in a better place now and soon we all will be joining him, maybe not now but in our time we will. Good luck to you and god bless.

Sincerely yours,
Marvin

101. Somehow, we the public, can find ourseles grieving for those who are lost. Heath was unique and a wonderful talent. We can grieve that, yet imagine trying to grieve with cameras, reporters and hate facilitating protestors in your face. Leave those who KNEW him and LOVED him some space. AT the VERY LEAST they deserve that. Why does everything have to be such a circus around the death of a celebrity? Give his family and friends some peace people! Everyone grieves differently and who are we to judge what Jake is or isn't doing. He's grieving for his best friend, leave him alone!

102. The fact that Jake has said NOTHING is very odd. Very odd indeed. Obviously they were not buddies or pals. Ledger liked to carouse at night and drink and drug, things Gyllenhaal doesn't do, as far as we know. So they really had little in common. Still as co-stars of an important movie one would expect Jake to say something through a spokesperson at least. As far as I know he has behaved as if he never knew Ledger from Badger or whatever.

103. Finally a movie crew protects its own from the media vultures. RE: the Christians who planned to protest Heath's funeral because he played a gay character, they're the same a-holes who protested Matthew Sheppard's funeral. He was the young gay man who was beaten and left to die on a fence. They also protest funerals of soldiers killed in Iraq - they say God killed them because America loves homos. I'm a queer. A big ol' ATHEIST queer!

104. Leave Jake and everyone else alone and let them greive. Damn. When I was young (early 20's) I thought I would like to be a famous Actor. I am 39 now, and never would I want that to be a reality. It must be so difficult to be a high profile person, as you loose all privacy. Celebrities are real people as are you and I. Ponder this people - would you want a camera or reporters in your face when you are greiving the loss of a 'brother, or dear friend? The media (all forms) are just disgusting, compassionless, and are soul-less.
