Blue Men Stuck a Camera Down My Throat!

An audience member at the Blue Man Group show is suing, claiming they stuck a dirty camera down his throat during their show. What?
Read the docs
TMZ has obtained a lawsuit in which James Srodon claims while he attended a 2006 show, he was "forcibly restrained" in his seat while the blue men shoved an "esophagus cam" into his mouth. According to the suit, the esophagus cam is routinely dragged on the floor during the show, which could contaminate it with food and liquid. James claims he now suffers from nightmares.

Srodon is seeking over $50,000 in damages.

UPDATE: Blue Man Productions issued the following statement: "We are shocked and surprised to learn of the allegations made in reference to one of our comedic pieces, "Esophagus Video." At the time of this statement, we have not been served any legal papers.

"Our well-known audience participatory pieces, such as "Esophagus Video," have been performed for over 15 years, in over 50,000 performances, to the delight of over 12 million audience members around the world. We are disappointed that this false claim forces us to reveal the truth behind one of our most popular theatrical devices.

"'Esophagus Video' is simply an illusion. A camera is held in an actor's hands, the actor's hands are placed near an audience member's mouth (not on or in). The live-feed video screen then switches to a pre-recorded medical video, resulting in the hilarious and absurd illusion that the audience is peering down an individual's esophagus. Because the camera never enters the mouth, the execution of this illusion could not possibly put anyone at risk of injury."

17. esophagus cam? Yeah that sounds like a great idea for a show bit. Nothing screams Clean, safe and hygenic more than a tiny camera that has been god knows where in your mouth.

18. Only $50,000? Hell, it's gotta be worth more than that, come on! That won't even cover the legal fees dude. I'd sue for mental distress, physical something, loss of sexual something, not being able to look at anything blue ever again from the trauma of it all, etc. Be creative!

21. Yeah, I know how he feels. I had a colon cam shoved up my ass one time, and I'm still having nightmares about that. I dream that I'm in the movie "Deliverance."

23. This is hideous. I´ve seen the show at least five times (yeap, that´s what happens when your family comes to visit) and it´s been always fun and perfect!
It sounds to me this person is trying to make some easy money...
I remember a few years ago, a lady decided to sue CATS because she "had to dance" with one of them...of course she did not win a thing...
One question: why wait all this time to sue? It happened on 2006...
LOL

24. This is insane!!! It's not real people, go to a show - that's not how it works. Just another lame attempt for some loser to gain money and fame that is not deserved! Thanks for ruining all the fun!!!

And SERIOUSLY, who wears silk to see Blue Man Group?!?!?!

26. This makes no sense. If it were true, the guy would've gagged, choked, and started getting sick when his gag reflex kicked in. I think the Blue Men are freaks and I'd never attend one of their shows, but it does sound like this dude is only out for some quick cash.

Why didn't this person sue the Blue Man Group back in 2006 (2 years ago, by the way) instead of waiting till now?! If I were a judge, I'd throw it out based on the statute of limitations is up. Stupid f***!

28. if this is true, $10,000 is not alot of money. I would ask for all their blue paint.

29. He waited till almost 2 years to file suit? Give me a break.

Posted at 12:19PM on Jan 24th 2008 by MM err Stupid???

30. I don't understand the big deal here. All of you tards are freaking out over a STUNT in the show. At no time is anything "shoved" down the guys throat. It's all an act that gives the ILLUSION that a camera is going into his mouth.

Most of you claim to have never seen the show, which is where your ignorance comes in handy. This guy is just looking for a quick buck.
