Blue Men Stuck a Camera Down My Throat!

An audience member at the Blue Man Group show is suing, claiming they stuck a dirty camera down his throat during their show. What?
Read the docs
TMZ has obtained a lawsuit in which James Srodon claims while he attended a 2006 show, he was "forcibly restrained" in his seat while the blue men shoved an "esophagus cam" into his mouth. According to the suit, the esophagus cam is routinely dragged on the floor during the show, which could contaminate it with food and liquid. James claims he now suffers from nightmares.

Srodon is seeking over $50,000 in damages.

UPDATE: Blue Man Productions issued the following statement: "We are shocked and surprised to learn of the allegations made in reference to one of our comedic pieces, "Esophagus Video." At the time of this statement, we have not been served any legal papers.

"Our well-known audience participatory pieces, such as "Esophagus Video," have been performed for over 15 years, in over 50,000 performances, to the delight of over 12 million audience members around the world. We are disappointed that this false claim forces us to reveal the truth behind one of our most popular theatrical devices.

"'Esophagus Video' is simply an illusion. A camera is held in an actor's hands, the actor's hands are placed near an audience member's mouth (not on or in). The live-feed video screen then switches to a pre-recorded medical video, resulting in the hilarious and absurd illusion that the audience is peering down an individual's esophagus. Because the camera never enters the mouth, the execution of this illusion could not possibly put anyone at risk of injury."

48. 19. Yeah, I know how he feels. I had a colon cam shoved up my ass one time, and I'm still having nightmares about that. I dream that I'm in the movie "Deliverance."

49. Heck I didn't even know the Blue Men were still around. I thought they kind of came and went overnight. If I attended a show and was humiliated or grossed out against my will I would sue too but you'd think he would have done it sooner. Humiliating people for entertainment seems to be the norm these days. I don't understand why shows like Punk'd don't get sued more often. Sure as bloody hell if someone decided to play a joke on me for the camera I'd be heading straight for the nearest lawyer's office.

50. From: http://tallahassee.com/special/blogs/mhinson/2007/02/true-blue-i-wanna-be-blue-man.html

One of the best bits in "MegaStar" occurred when The Blue Man discovered a mini-movie camera hidden in a tube and took into the front row to try out the new toy. One Blue Man inspected the mouth of an unsuspecting audience member like a dentist would. He stuck the camera in the guy's mouth as a giant screen simultaneously projected the dude's teeth and tongue on a huge screen over the stage.

Now here's the smart part, the live footage feed from the man's mouth was quickly replaced with footage from an actual medical procedure featuring a tiny camera going down someone's goozle pipe and into the innards. You know, like a colonoscopy, only it's done from the other end.

"Some people don't get that it's a trick," Blue Man Zack Buell said when I talked to him after show. "They think we really stick a small camera all the way down somebody's esophagus."

It sounds disgusting but it was a scream to watch live.

55. YUP, YOU ARE A MORON BECAUSE STATUE OF LIMITATIONS DOES EXIST.

Posted at 1:13PM on Jan 24th 2008 by yeah

56. I have been to a number of BMG shows. They do not put it down your throat. They may put it in your mouth to create the illusion that it's live but in reality it is a pre made video that the audience actually sees on the jumbo screen. The BMG are awesome and are worth every penny that they charge to see their shows.

57. Yeah..... you're a simple, simple twit
I wrote the statue of limitations DOES exist. Man your stupid...and a little illiterate, just because you know all the sounds that letters make, doesn't make you literate, it also involves some comprehension. It's not just an arbartory time line, it's real, and just because some simpleton posted they think the statue should have passed doesn't make it real.

Ha, ha, you're an ass!!!

58. These smurfing smurfs smurfed a camera in my mouth during a show. I didn't even know it was part of the act until I saw the big screen. This guy is just another killjoy that is ruining this country. Sit at home in your cocoon and don't bother the rest of us please.

59. "Suffers from nightmares"?????? What the--??? Give me a BREAK. No wonder our court systems are so screwed up. Clowns like this guy are wasting time and taxpayers money on frivolous stupid lawsuits. Nightmares???? Want does he want? A bedtime story? Sure not worth $50,000. What a toad.
