Sorry, Oprah, I Want to Talk About Heath

Oscar winner Daniel Day Lewis was on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" today, ostensibly to talk about his current Oscar nomination -- but instead made an emotional statement on the death of Heath Ledger.

Breaking away from Oprah's prepared questions, Lewis choked-up as he spoke of the late actor -- even though he "didn't know him."

106. Sorry folks. That was a lengthy blog on Oprah/Obama.Please forgive me for the typo's. Should have said Historical Education in the 10 points. As there were other typo's as well. I had to do a lot of referencing from other windows. Back and forth typing. First draft, lost the window. Had to start all over again. Hope it enlightens someone.

107. Wouldn't it be weird if Obama IS Osama and has had extensive plastic surgery and taken someone else's idenity to run for the highest office in the USA. He looks little like him. Or, he could be funded under a safe name by Osama himself.

108. So eloquently said. Imagine if they had had the chance to do a movie together? How great that would've been...

"What in God's name is wrong with you? "

RiverRat, I think its called intelligence and openmindness. It is true, some of us suffer from this.

Its also called "calling it as one sees it".

110. Just shows how much Heath's passing has affected us all....we need to let his family grieve privatly and let him rest in peace, for the sake of his daughter and her mother. Just beacuse he was famous doesn't mean his family and friends shouldn't get the same respect as any of us would if we were in the same position

112. You guys are afraid of Obama why. He is a thousand times better than a lot of you, and way better than Bush. Why are you taking about him anyway, thispage is about Heath and DDL tribute to him. Why do't you bigoted people go do something useful like clean a toilet with your vile mouths.

113. I've always felt Daniel Day-Lewis to be a tremendous actor who takes his craft very seriously. DDL and Heath Ledger have both been known to avoid friends and family members while studiously preparing for roles. I believe DDL's comments were sincere condolences to Heath's family, and sincere regret at the loss of Heath's talents. Not only was Heath acting, but he was preparing to direct as well. Heath's abilities have been praised by those who knew him and worked with him.

Those of us who did not know him personally can only guess at what happened until it is determined by the M.E. and police officials. Those of us who did not know him and/or Michelle Williams personally can only guess at why their relationship ended.

I, for one, enjoyed his movies and appreciate the efforts he took to make them as 'true to character' as possible.

Daniel Day-Lewis, I applaud you for your respectful and sincere comments. Not only a great actor, but a fine gentleman as well.

Heath's family & friends, I'm truly sorry for your loss. I hope it helps you to know there are those of us who believe he was a good person and who will miss him also.

Matilda, may you be blessed with loving people who adore you; and who will tell you about the father who loved you so much.

Heath, God bless you. We will miss you.

114. msfanni: I'd think you comments are rude if they weren't sooooooo TRUE. It's nice to see not everybody's doing the santimonious poor, sad, what a waste, line of B.S. Sure it's unfortuate, but what's really sad is whats happening in Africa, Iraq, Afghanistan, THE WHITE HOUSE, inner cities, etc. You know?

115. OMG Obama is a bad guy. He has REMOVED the video on his Church's website. Seems like if something comes out bringing light to his truth, he has it removed from the web. What's wrong OBAMA, the truth is something you don't want people to know. My friend saw the video on his church's website www.tucc.org

She said it sounded like a Scientologist video and she is a Repulican. Next thing you know, they will remove the 10 points that is above the video. Then, the Church's website will get a "white" wash, uh hum, complete overhaul.

116. msfannie, you're a real winner aren't you? do yourself a favor and just shut your computer off. heath was not a junkie in any way shape or form, hence the entire world being shocked at the news of his death. mark my words, heath's tox report will come back negative for all traces of any kind of illegal drugs. as far as the prescription pills go, you need to do a little research of your own and try to feed your brain on the types of drugs he was PRESCRIBED and the mental and physical ailments he was suffering from. until then, stick with your sad empty little life and leave heath alone.
long story short, your comments only personify your ignorance so STFU!

118. I'll put it like this, I really don't care all that much about the passing of an actor. There are MANY others things in my life that takes higher priority!

With that said, JENNIFER IN LA, and MSFANNI.....

What DOES irritate me is such close minded people that immediately (like you) start spouting off that he was a druggie before you even KNOW what killed him. Typical gossip trash is what you are....you don't have a clue what killed the guy, but you see no reason NOT to call him a druggie. Do you know him first hand? Have you seen him do drugs? Why don't you wait until you find out before you start saying that stuff....get your facts straight.

I hope one day when you die, everyone says that you were druggies too....even if they don't know it's true. I also hope if you have kids they get to read about it all over the internet, how their mom/dad was such a drugged up stupid loser, even if we don't even know if that's true.
