To pohono (#14)--she resides in California.......legally, she must have a California license. She did not have one, hence, driving without a valid license. And let's not forget that if she were a careful driver and hadn't drawn attention to her own driving situation (kid on lap, no baby seat, hit and run, illegal left turn, and so on), no one would have ever known she didn't have a legal license. I'm sure there are probably many people driving without valid licenses, but they are not flagrantly disobeying rules of the road (knowing that they are being filmed no less).

33. You bet they don't want probation, because she is sooner or later going to get nailed for doing something illegal! Things she pretty much on a daily basis, like criminal speeding and driving! I'm just glad that the cops where I live are pretty much honest and impartial, because the one in L.A. are a bunch of corrupt m-f'ers!!!! She does either something so stupid it's illegal, or something that is blatantly illegal, such as her hyper-speed runs everywhere! She's a self centered menace to everyone around her and has shown that she basically cares for no one but herself! That's almost the definition of anti-social behavior, so if her ass gets killed or seriously injured by her own misadventures, I will breath a sigh of relief! She doesn't care about other people in the least bit and seems to hold everyone in contempt, so why should anyone give a flying sh1t about her! Go ahead and flame me for this and I just won't care one single bit! People like her are dangerous and need to be removed from society- one way or another!

36. Forget the valid license---when are they going to make her get LICENSE PLATES on all of her cars!!?? Those cops out there are bone heads. They deal with her all the time and don't give her a ticket for that. They threatened to ticket the paps the other day but not HER when she parked IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET!! It's no wonder she thinks she's above the law. I saw she parked in yet another handicapped parking spot the other day. Her illegal driving moves (on video) know no end. Those dumb cops are going to look awfully bad when she kills someone.

37. Aw, c'mon. Trying to bargain down her driving on an out of state expired license (and not bothering to get a license in California) to a "fix it ticket"? If you or I did that, we'd have our asses tossed in jail, and major fines. I say no bargaining with this brain dead twit; she has to do the exact same things as us normal folk. If her stupid attorney won't accept that, then take her to trial, find her guilty & toss her ass in jail...

The attorneys are acting as an agent for Britney. Only the client -- Britney -- can ultimately agree to a settlement; the lawyer cannot settle the matter without the client's consent. The ball is in Britney's court.

What this tells me is that Britney wants to keep fighting the traffic charge rather than pay the fine and accept the other penalties provided by law. She has, for whatever reason, made the decision to pay an attorney to negotiate. Stop blaming the legal profession for collecting fees that a client has agreed to pay and for work that the client has authorized.

BTW, as to the choice of law that governs whether she could drive under her Louisiana-issued license, the prosecutor is correct. If Britney was domiciled in California at the time ("domicile" refers where you keep your home, and if you have several homes, the place where you predominantly live), then California law governs. And under California law, she was required to have a valid, current driver's license issued by that State.

This is RIGHT ON THE MONEY. Like usual, she brings all these troubles on herself; she has only herself to blame. She had a certain period of time (2 months or less, I believe) to get a California drivers license when she established residency in California. However, being an arrogant dumbass, she blew it off, just like she blew off tons of other important things (kids, court orders, boyfriends, friends, family, etc). What's more, she SO stupid regarding this; she not only does things illegally, but she encourages attention & scrutiny so people will notice that she's doing things totally illegally. She's a stupid dumbass, and I have not one bit of sympathy for her...

43. To #32: She isn't doing just things like any normal chick her age would do. WOMEN, not girls, women her age work, take care of their kids if they have some, go to clubs and behave normally (not flashing), take showers, shop when necessary and for fun and they don't run around at 3am demanding stores to be opened up, have fixations with drug store chain shopping after midnight, etc... She goes on and on how she is a star, well, most stars have other people do their day to day errands for them. They also are driven around by responsible drivers and security people. This woman is a menace to LA's society. She is going to kill someone in her car (or the following paps that she invites will) and she belongs in a mental health facility. The only reason she blew off court the other day, a hearing she demanded as urgent, was because Adnan came back to her. She doesn't need her kids anymore; she can create a 'new' one all hers with Adnan and K-Fed can't take that one away from her. I hope she does get pregnant and leaves her other kids alone. At least they will have a fighting chance. While the new British accented Britney thinks she is making K-Fed all jealous, K-Fed is laughing all the way to the bank!

45. screw the fine! you see, to a normal person like me, 3K would set me back a bit and make me temporarily alter my way of life. But brit makes 750K/month! 3K is NOTHING to her! Hell, didn't she spend 10K on her self the other night at Kitson? Brit would laugh at the 3K and hand her lawyer a credit card. I say put that crackhead on probation, let her screw herself in the ass by violating it within 10 minutes and ship her to jail! MAYBE, JUST MAYBE then she will get her head out of her ass and quit being such a worthless slut!
