Memorial Service for Heath Held in L.A.

A brief memorial service was held for Heath Ledger last night around 8:00 PM on a rainy night in Los Angeles. It was attended by Heath's immediate family and a small group friends -- including former girlfriend Naomi Watts, according to several different reports. The service was held at Westwood Village Memorial Park.

The AP is reporting that Ledger's body is now en route to his native Australia. Ledger's rep had said that no public memorial had been planned for Los Angeles.

16. Man, those are some cold comments for a man with a child who just died. Don't know the truth about his death, only the doctors and medical professionals do. So I'll just say sad to see a young man die so early in life with a child, God bless!!

anyone can have a memorial service,screen actor's quild awards are on tonight and it will turn into somewhat of a memorial,and if that is not enough invite all your buddies over,throw in a health ledger movie,pop up the pocorn,break out the beer or pop,break out the kleenex and have your own memorial.
i am glad his family did it this way,give him back to his family and australia we had him long enough

You have to be kidding.
No doubt she will get whatever money he had saved.

Since she is an out of wedlock kid my guess is mommy still has
1) no idea of about birth control (honey it is now rocket science)
2) Will make another kid or two with another one or two men

This kid will have no want for money, daddies or siblings

27. It truly amazes me that there are some of you out there that are so hateful, judgmental and just plain nasty.
Do you honestly have nothing better to do then try to tarnish the reputation of a man that did nothing but try to entertain people? So what, he took on the role in Broke Back Mountain... That honestly means nothing more than the fact that he wasn't afraid to try other roles and not get pigeoned holed. Unlike people like Silvester Stallone and others that are just playing themselves in what ever movie they are in. It was a MOVIE that he played a PART in... Get over yourselves... As for all of the other chatter about how or what caused him to die, everyone should just reserve all of there wonderful comments until the corner's report comes back. It hasn't even been a week since this tragedy happened and how many different scenario's have we heard about? Bottom line, whatever your opinion is, a young talented man has lost his life and those that loved him are trying to deal with this fact. For one minute could you TRY to have a heart and silence all of your hateful comments and think how others are feeling at this time?!?!?! I know for some of you it will be hard but please try.
