K-Fed's Lawyer Wants Five for Fighting

K-Fed's lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, has filed a motion asking the court to make Britney pay attorney's fees. If the motion is granted, we've learned Brit will be on the hook for more than $500,000 since last July.

Here's how it breaks down: The court has already awarded Kaplan $120,000 for fees earned between July 30 and October 8, 2007. We've learned in today's motion Kaplan is asking for fees in excess of $300,000 for work performed between October 8 and January 24, 2008. On top of that, Kaplan is asking for in excess of $100,000 for fees he will accumulate between now and the end of the custody trial, set for April.

A hearing on Kaplan's request for attorney's fees is set for March 10.

People have no psychological and common sense training in the celebrity world, espesially if they didn't even attend high school. They have to have problems, then learn how to solve them, just like us. But, in the world of Priviledge, it may take longer, because of bad advice and hangers on.Hey- 23! Very young to have all of these problems, and a smooth, intelligent solution. She has probs we aren't even privy to. Your words were well thought out, made sense, too. 182. DOUBLE STANDARDS from most of the women on here.
It is refreshing to see some women accept what's good for the goose is good for the gander.
the law should never be about the persons gender but about the whats right.

If a women gets custody she get child support and doesn't have to work
same for a man
but no it's get a job, in it for the money.
Wouldn't say that if it was a woman.

183. Wow!! Price for sperm donating has risen. That's all KFed is!!! His attorney is a blood sucking jerk. He know he's driven Britney totally insane and he needs to get a half million bucks out of her before she is legally declared insane and then she will lose all rights to the children and she will not have to pay either Kaplan or KFed.. The 2 crooked K's will show up in court and early as they want their payday before Britney is either dead or locked up forever.

185. Why shouldn't she pay his legal fees?? It's not abnormal for an attorney to request legal fees from the other party. She has done everything in her power to defy everything anyone has tried to do to help her. She has been given many chances by the judge and yet she has disregarded every single one. Why should he have to pay for her irresponsibility? Whether or not you're a KFed fan, at this point those boys are better off with him. She has done NOTHING to show she wants her kids back. She requests hearings and doesn't show up, etc. She should pay.

186. What a rip-off! From July to October (3 months), K-Fed's attorney asked for $120,000; then, he jacked up the price to $300,000 for next three months. What did this tell you? This is obviously that they are trying to rob Britney's money. Why can't this judge figure this out and tell this crook Kaplan stop doing like this immediately? It is time for this judge to command greed K-Fed to start paying his crook attorney, Kaplan, since they took two children away from Britne who wants to have her children back so badly. No mother of any child(ren) would like this. This has gotten out of control; no wonder why it has gotten Britney spiraling down.

If you're sick you go see a general practictioner doctor. If you have cancer you go see a specialist who will charge you more to see him than seeing that regular doctor because he is a " cancer specialist". Yeah I know that's wrong, All doctors SHOULD charge the same rate. I didnt make the rules. I dont like them either, but thats the way the world works

Same for the legal world, there are layers, and there are law firms. One charges far less than the other. As I said before, if you want results, you hire the big guns, in this case a law firm, not a sole practitioner. It would be impossible for one lawyer to battle everything thrown at you from a law firm without jeapordizing the rest of your clients.

So. Kev hired a specialist. You have to keep in mind, all the money that the attorney is asking for isn't going to the attorney, From there he has bills to pay, such as his staff, forensic auditors to find all her assets, CPA's, paid professionals to follow paper trails, legal research, drafting letters, phone calls, court appearances, no-show depos, *court reporter still has to get paid, and they get paid very well mind you*, writing motions.... The list goes on and on.... Is it all going to him. Not by a long shot.

But I repeat - it's odd how no one is asking how much her attorney is charging her per hour, especially when they haven't done anything for her. Mostly due to her actions, but nonetheless. They were supposed to quit, but no one is questioning why they didn't. Perhaps its easy money.....

190. Brit is responsible for most of the charges to K-Fed: Mu;tiple depo's ditched, court-appointed monitor, etc.
Grant the motion, Judge! She's got it coming to her! She is the source of most of the conflict.

191. I hope she has to pay for his attorney! It's HER fault that he is trying to get custody of the kids because she is an AWFUL mother. He is the ONLY reason those two boys have a normal life right now. I hope he gets every last cent of Britney's money! TEAM KFED ALL THE WAY!

193. If that was me behaving the way this selfish piece of trash behaves, I would hope for my daughter's protection that they would take her away from me. I think that it is only fair that she pays for his attorney's fees, she brought this all upon herself and she has been doing nothing but wasting his attorney's time and the court's time by not showing up to depositions and when she does show up she is hours late and only stays a short time. I'm sure her antics have run his legal bills through the roof! Why should he have to pay for her not showing up to court? He is being a good father and not endangering their lives and mental health like Britney is. I think that she should not only pay all of his legal fees, but she should be made to set up a large trust fund for those children. He is the ONLY reason those boys are still alive and fairly normal!

I can't believe how many people are outraged by this! This poor excuse for a mother has done nothing but harm those children. If it was the other way around, I'm sure everyone would be for him paying her legal bills. Instead of worrying about this selfish woman's money, how about worrying about those children and what is best for them! And what is best for them is to be kept far away from her!

THIS IS A SMALL PRICE TO PAY FOR WHAT IS BEST FOR THOSE TWO BOYS!

195. ....and with rough calculations, this means the lawyer gets about $4000 per hour, assuming he worked every hour of an 8 hour day on the case. Boy, I sure am in the wrong business.
