Britney Being Treated for Her Disease

If you think Britney Spears doesn't give a crap about getting help for her condition, think again.
Britney Spears
Multiple sources tell TMZ Britney has seen numerous doctors. We know that she's seen a new psychiatrist who has come to her home every day this week and that she's on medication to treat her bipolar disease. We also know doctors have indeed concluded she suffers from bipolarity.

Britney has seen doctors who have been referred by other doctors, plus doctors who have been referred by celebrities Britney knows, and doctors referred by her lawyers, family and friends. We're told the process has been excruciating for her, partly because her disease is severe.

Sources tell slightly different stories about the efficacy of the medication. A friend says when Britney takes her medicine she is like "a different person -- normal and sweet." But she takes her meds for a while and then feels as if she can live without it -- so she stops taking them -- and her condition quickly deteriorates. But a professional tells TMZ flatly, "The medication just isn't working."

That same professional tells TMZ, "She's really trying. Whether it works -- we'll have to see." That person also says it's extremely frustrating when the media shows video of Britney out on the town acting crazy, adding, "She has a disease. Sometimes when you see her she's in the middle of an episode. It's like mocking someone with Down Syndrome."

377. tmz..bipolar is not a disease. It's a disorder. Leave the girl alone, she's going through a lot and the last thing she needs is people tracking her every move. Bipolar disorder is on of the hardest disorders to treat, and being in the public eye like this is not helping. If Britney dies because of a fatal accident due to the paparazzi, you better believe it, we are coming after you for manslaughter.

379. Those who do not suffer from a mental disease are the quickest to pass judgement. How do you know when she stops taking the meds and starts to act "crazy." that she is aware of what is going on? Even if she is spoiled and a brat doesnt mean she deserves to be exploited for things that are beyond her control. Who has the right to say whether or not she wants her children, everything you hear good or bad is never certain. I think more people should worry about the kids in this situation and how heartbreaking it is and will be when they get older to see their mother like this and hear the ignorant comments people made with out even knowing what herself, or her family might be going through.

381. Maybe if TMZ stopped harassing her so much, she would be in a better mental health state, ya think? You people are cruel.

382. My child is bipolar and it took several years for us to find the right combination of medications. It is very treatable, unfortunately, not curable. She needs the support of "real" friends and family. I know her mood swings and acting out makes good TV, but she's sick. Why can't the paps leave her alone until she gets better. I agree with the other writer, it's like making fun of a person with Downs Syndrome. It's an illness recognized by the medical profession, so all of you out there making fun of her and chasing her down, "shame on you." I'm not a fan of hers, but I'm a mother with an ill child, so I understand her family's frustration. They need to stay by her side and help her realize that the meds do make her better, and coming off the meds with throw her into the pits of this illness. Many people, when they start feeling better, stop taking meds because they feel they're cured. This disease will requir her to take meds for the rest of her life. I wish her luck and "peace."

383. tell your "Professional" he can take a flying f*** in a rolling doughnut. my son has Down Syndrome. he can't be "fixed" with medicine the way B.S. can. What he deals with is much more than this spoiled attention whore will ever have handle. Tell her to grow up and act her age.

384. How DARE that "professional" compare the spoiled, indulged, enabled mess to someone with Down's Syndrome. Some professional. Down's Syndrome has a genetic cause. "They" say that Brit has had this problem for years. My question is, why is it *now* such a huge thing? Why was it not observed before? Is it just another excuse to enable her to do whatever she wants, whenever she wants to do it? She may well be playing everybody, and having a nice laugh about it. Maybe that's what she meant when she was sitting there with her dog. Had the wits to say "nice TIME" rather than "nice LAUGH".

385. #139, are you living in fairytale land? She can get any kind of drug she **WANTS** at the snap of her pudgy fingers. Yeah, a daily UA will go over REAL well with Miss "I don't have to comply with ANY rules". Ay carumba.

389. I am bipolar, have been for over 30 years...I think Britney should learn even when you THINK you are well and go off your meds.....its the wrong thing to do......You have meds for a reason, for the rest of your life....feeling good is because the meds are working, not because you are fine......the meds taken properly will level you out and you can live a normal life...Also all this stuff of being in the so called "lime light", give that up.....right now you just need to be on your own till you get the meds straight and work with a real good pshychiatrist....When you take your meds properly eventually you will see your life will be so much better...and all the hype of "hollywoold" just let it all go......Start making you9r life count for something and work on getting your children back....make that your goal when you are better.
I will keep you in my parayer and also your children.......love and blessings......Rainy
