Daniel Smith Inquest Back in Session

The inquest into the death of Anna Nicole's son resumed today in the Bahamas, with new testimony about how the former Playmate traveled with a cache of drugs in a Coach duffel bag.


Ford Shelley, a South Carolina real estate developer who once rented a house to Anna, testified today that when Anna came to visit, he and his wife found methadone in her luggage.

He also said on the stand that she had the drug in both tablet and liquid form, and that Anna Nicole traveled with a Coach duffel bag filled with drugs, although he admits he never "saw Anna personally take any of the medication."

Shelley called Daniel "a brilliant" and "awesome" kid who loved his mother, but found it difficult to deal with her fame.

Smith died in September of 2006 while visiting his mother in the Bahamas after she delivered his half sister Dannielynn. A coroner's inquest into his death was requested by the Bahamian government, although an independent autopsy commissioned by Daniel's family determined the cause of death to be an accidental overdose.

31. Does it really matter.........they both died of drug overdoses. Dah. There are a lot of people at fault, HOWARD.......but what can be done or how can that even be proven????????? I feel bad for this little girl, who now has medical problems, is any of that due to her mothers drug abuse? I wonder.

37. I fail to see what Anna Nicole's luggage has to do with Daniel's death. Further, what is Mr. Shelley doing going through his guests' luggage? This seems to be a smear campaign to me. We all know she died from and overdose, this is nothing new. Let her rest in peace, Lord knows her days on this earth certainly weren't.

40. Howard will probably not get anything out of the inquest but wait till the US get ahold of him. I can't wait. Howard is going down one way or the other. Him and Bonnie will meet justice. so will Dr. Evil and Goen.

44. Who cares it's not a US court system....it's an island....and you can buy a verdict! And being an island....if you don't bring it you don't have it....that's why shelly was going thru her stuff....oh yea he broke in a stole stuff too! Wow what a witness let's take his word that he's a good guy!
