Jethro's Girlfriend Commits Suicide

The 30-year-old girlfriend of 70-year-old Max Baer, Jethro Bodine of "The Beverly Hillbillies," died Sunday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Lake Tahoe, Calif.

According to a sheriff's spokesman, Baer called 9-1-1 at 1:15 PM last Thursday after discovering Chere Rhodes unconscious in a bedroom, suffering from a gunshot wound. She apparently regained consciousness and told deputies she was trying to kill herself. A handwritten suicide note found at the scene confirmed that, cops said.

Rhodes was flown to Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno where she was placed on life-support. Her condition did not improve and she died Sunday after her family requested she be taken off life-support.

No foul play is suspected.

Little known facts -- Baer also dated the late Sharon Tate, and Victoria Principal.

Seriously, who effen cares if you are the 1st post. It only means that you are pathetically glued to your computer, refreshing the TMZ site every 2 seconds, just make a lame post on any random story. Get a life.

As for the story, very sad but impressive that ol' Jethro, found a youngen' so young!

37. Who was this woman who killed herself? Do we know her story? Did she leave a note? I guess there is no rationality to being in such a state, but for what was her story? 30 and healthy as far as everyone around her believed, or had she been struggling for some time or has her family and friends been taken by utter surprise/saddness?

38. This sounds like a "Beverly Hillbillies" version of "CLUE:" It was Ellie Mae with a Shotgun out by the CE-ment pond; or it was Granny in the Kitchen with a Skillet; or it was Uncle Jed out in the Woodshed with a whittlin' knife; or it was Miss Jane in the Fancy Eatin' Room with a Potpasser...

45. I was unaware that he was still alive. Man, he was a hottie in "The Beverly Hillbillies". Sad thing is - they have been rerunning that damn show for years and back when it was made, they didn't get royalities for the reruns- like they do now.

Someone has made a hell of a lot of money off that show - and other shows from way back before most of us were born, but it isn't the actors who were in it.
