Oprah: Big, Bronzed & Naked

Move over King Tut -- it's Queen Butt!
Oprah Winfrey
Artist Daniel Edwards has created a bootyful bronze sculpture of a curvaceous and robust Oprah Winfrey, called, "The Oprah Sarcophagus." Edwards previously created a life-sized statue of Britney giving birth, and one of a dead Paris Hilton.

It's safe to say Edwards isn't one of Big O's favorite things!

17. How stupid. It doesn't even look like her except for being "curvaceous".

19. Vice President Oprah won't like that.

20. #7, The "Venus of Willendorf" sculpture is less than six inches tall! I doubt this statue is smaller than that! Not much slimmer either.

I agree that she looks like a goddess. This guy has found a way to get lots of attention, modeling his mediocre sculptures on celebrities to gain publicity. I've had enough of him. But I do prefer this to his Britney piece!

22.
I'm no fan of Oprah, but this sculpture is absolutely beautiful. I honestly don't see why TMZ would imply that Oprah doesn't like it.
Anyone with ANY knowledge of art history would recognize the genre the artist is using here.
TMZ staffers should get out more, or take even just a community college course in art appreciation or art history.

23. Oprah is evil and deserves all the critcism she generates. Her ego is so large that she plasters that made-up face (which in no way resembles what she truly look like--her make artist deserves an award) on every single issue of her magazine. Not even Martha Stewart does that. Then she dictates to her minions what they should eat, read, believe and who to vote for. And look at her, she's a mess. Plus, she spawned Dr. Phil. Thank god for her inability to control her poor eating habits. With any luck she will die of a heart attack.

24. I think it is pretty. It implies fertility, femininity, and a goddess/mother earth type of thing.

25. Donna - I couldn't agree with you more. Oprah is not only
self-absorbed - however she now views herself as a "powerful" woman. I
only know of one person who walked on water - and that person had
complete humility! No, I agree with you Donna. I use to watch her
show, I now change the channel. A true humanitarian helps ALL,
believes in ALL people, and not in just one common factor. A true humanitarian
puts no lines or boundries before them as Oprah clearly does - god's truth!

27. Lana

Your comments are vile and spiteful. I hope you wishes will never come true. I love Oprah. She has done more for the world than you.

28. @ #24 I agree with you. If any readers here took the time to search on the work from this guy they would quickly realize he's just out for a quick buck making these celebrity "sculptures." Search for "Suri Cruise's First Bowel Movement" seriously this guy can't be taken that seriously...

29. I'm SO over her. She is a made-up icon.

30. The sculpture looks nothing like her. For one thing, the sculpture's mouth is closed. I can't remember the last time I saw Oprah with her mouth closed.

Luckily, I never got sucked into the whole Oprah show, like it seems so many women have. I like to think for myself. As the old saying goes, "If you are not the lead dog, the view never changes".

I don't own any books from the book club and I have never subscribed to her magazine.
