Brit Could Be Involuntary Commitment Candidate

Sources at UCLA Medical Center tell TMZ Britney Spears has been classified as "G.D." -- Gravely Disabled. That is a huge and dangerous deal. That means the patient is unable to take care of basic needs, such as the acquisition of food, clothing or shelter. Being G.D. is one of the criteria for involuntary commitment.

Several health care professionals tell us Britney has fallen into a "manic state" due to her bipolar disorder. We're also told she arrived at the hospital this morning at around 2:15 AM, but wasn't admitted until 4:15 AM because she was causing such a scene in the hospital.

We first reported that Britney accused her mother of sleeping with her boyfriend. Now we have more. We're told Britney screamed, "The only reason she's admitting me is because she wants to be alone with her boyfriend! She wants to sleep with my boyfriend!!" Britney never said exactly who she was talking about.

When Brit calmed down, she talked about her kids, how much she misses them and how it's unfair that she doesn't have them.

616. HOW DO YOU PEOPLE (TMZ) THINK THIS IS ANY OF YOUR BUSINESS. YOU REALLY NEED TO BACK OFF. I CONSIDER MYSELF SANE BUT YOU GUYS CAN MAKE ANYONE CRAZY. THERE REALLY SHOULD BE A LAW AGAINST YOU PEOPLE ( TMZ ). I THINK HOLLYWOOD SHOULD GANG UP AND HAVE YOU ALL COMMITTED. YOU REALLY HAVE NERVE...........

617. I'm not an expert on bipolar disorder, but I do have some experience as a mom who has made mistakes. My 15-yr-old daughter jumps on every mistake I've ever made as the judge and jury. She lives with her dad and doesn't even want to see me (rightly or wrongly). Even with her dramas taken into consideration, the loss of her presence in my life is devestating. My two older sons have no problems with me and we have a good relationship, so I do feel grateful for that. So for BS to be without both her children must cause intense emotional pain, even if she's ultimately the cause for it.

Let's remember that she's a human being with real problems like the rest of us. Unfortunately, hers play out in front of everyone. I am praying for her, and also for those of you whose hearts are filled with hatred and judgments.

619. I feel very bad for Britney and her family. As a parent of a son who is mentally ill, I've been through it with him thru out the 5150 holds, the mental health evaluations and hospitalization. I can finally say that after 4 yrs, I have finally gotten my son back. It's not about the money, it's about the welfare of the patient. As long as Britney listened to her doctors and takes the medication that is needed, she can lead a normal and productive life. Having the press and paparazzi following her night and day only makes matters worse. GIVE BRITNEY HER SPACE TO HEAL AND EVENTUALLY GET HER KIDS BACK.

620. Awake for three days? That's meth, not bi-polar. As for being bi-polar, that is one of the most over-diagnosed and improperly diagnosed so-called mental ilness's. All she ever needed was some self-control, and people not saying 'yes' to her every whim. She sprialed right out of control with people helping her to fall and nobody reaching out to catch her as she fell.

Oh where was Dr. Phil when she needed him. Whoops, he was right there trying to mooch off her fall from sanity! Sure is a good the the paps are giving her room to breathe, too.

Whoops, they aren't doing that either, are they. Oh well, at least we will have her recordings when she is gone and all those nice photos of her puffy snatch.

I'm surprised this has all not been on South Park yet.

623. I have Bipolar I Disorder.

I hate taking all the medications I have to, day in and day out. Every day is a struggle. Even though I take medications, I can still become manic and/or depressed. The side effects of the medications are troubling and that is one reason why many people stop taking them.

I wish the best for Britney. It's going to be tough for her the rest of her life.

All of this talk about Bipolar Disorder is giving me a headache, though many of the posts are meant to tell people what the disorder is all about.

625. I feel for Britney. In the beggining I really thought she was doing it all for the publicity. Now, seeing she can't pull out of this and is getting worse talkin all british, not eating or sleeping she has something mayjor wrong. I am glad to see she is finally in the right hands. Doctors and family she needs all the support she can get. My wishes go to her and the family. Let go of the pain or burden that is holding you back from living your life and ruining your career!
My prayers go out!

626. I feel sad for Brit. Having gone through the divorce and adding the media frenzing on top of it, and the physically and mental toil that having 2 babies so close together and having no one she can trust around her... anyone would be feeling this way too.

627. I really feel for Britney. These photographers have driven her to insanity. Can anyone say that being hounded every minute of every day by these "hounds" wouldn't make you insane? Leave the woman alone. She has had enough, wouldn't you agree?

628. I'm not a fan of Britney, but I feel for her as a human being. How about publishing the names of the photographers who are hounding her? Let the hounders be hounded. Even people like me who shun celebrity gossip would appreciate writing emails and letters telling them to back off. Yes, the paps that hounds Britney are immoral low-lifes. However, it is the consumer of the celebrity gossip publication who is ultimately responsible. If the behavior of the paps disgusts you, then stop providing a market for the photographs. TMZ, it was the headline in a list of headlines that got me to read the story, not a photograph of Britney.
