Britney Officially on Psychiatric Hold

Britney SpearsLaw enforcement sources tell TMZ an L.A. County Superior Court judge has just signed a "5150," meaning Britney Spears is on a three-day psychiatric hold at the UCLA Medical Center.

We're told there is a "good possibility" that it will be extended to 14 days. We've also learned there have been several parallel attempts to get Britney on a 5150. Her lawyers, Anne Kiley and Tara Scott, secured a new psychiatrist late last week -- she's the one who triggered the 5150 last night.

At the same time, we're told Britney's mother, father and brother have been "working closely with the LAPD for weeks" to get her back in for psychiatric care. There is now a dogfight between Britney's family and Sam Lutfi over who will make medical decisions, however, that fight is now put on hold because the judge now makes the call.

Once the psychiatric hold ends, something has to give.

18. I don't understand why that Sam guy thinks he should decide over her medical issues. He is not even family and unless she made him her health care proxy he doesn't even have a chance and deciding anything for her. I dont think he has the best for her in mind. He is thinking about how he can make sure he will always have a meal ticket. I'm glad her family is there to help her now, I'm sure they have been trying to all along but he has cut everyone out expect those who will are not really there to help her.

20. I am not pulling in 700,000 a month like Brit , however I do have a number of assistants and if the media were hounding me , I would be sending my assistants to go run my errands.
I used to feel sorry for Brit . But when I see her going to get food , or stool softner instead of sending out assistants to do these tasks , it's unbelievable how she baits these paps to follow her . She basks in this chit.
The perfect strategy against these pieces of gutter would be to hang out at home for quite some time. The house is an estate , so it's not like she is cooped up .Never come out for quite some time which would be the opposite of appeasing those vultures. Let them sit out there in the cold, day in and day getting not a single money shot ...HA! She has everything she needs there at home anyway , pool , home theatre , massive media room ,etc and instead this poor girl whom is actually and obviously a few cans short of a six pack , has to run all over town aimlessly , which only encourages these gutter paps to continue to hunt her down .
Btw , I can't help but wonder ...is it an unspoken understanding that in order to meet criteria to be a papparazzi , you have to be butt ass ugly ???
I have yet to see one at the very least decent looking pap in these swarms . Not just the ones following Brit , but the ones whom follow the other stars , EVERY SINGLE ONE IS SO FUGLY ...ever notice that ?

21. The problem you have here like Anna Nicole is she hates her parents and has allowed a stranger to make decisions for her like Howard K. Stern. Sam is in it for the money and attention, who would notice him if it wasn't for Britney.

Good....and now her lawyers need to secure a "Guardian Ad Litem" at least on temporary basis, because quite frankly this motly crew of misfits she has surrounding her (and that includes her family) are not fit to act in her best interests. There is just way too much emotion between them.....Ms. Spears needs an unbiased, mature, informed, educated adult to act on her behalf.
