A Florida jury has acquitted Wesley Snipes of federal tax fraud and conspiracy charges, but convicted him of three misdemeanor counts of failing to file tax returns.
Snipes, who originally faced up to 16 years in prison, could get up to three years.
His two co-defendants were convicted by the same jury of tax fraud and conspiracy.

21. #15 - not correct at all. You need a good lawyer who can make the distinction between a criminal act and a civil act. His lawyer argued that his tax avoidance was not a criminal act but a civil act, and he was right.

26. He played the race card and won. #8 is correct only those who cannot afford multi million dollar representation have to pay taxes. The wealthy and especially the famous do not.
Sad thin is he probably spent more on legal fees then his tax bill.
I hope he at least has to pay back taxes and penalties, and interest.
Singer Dionne Warwick owes more than $2.5 million dollars, comedian Sinbad's bill is $2.1 million dollars and O.J. Simpson owes $1.4 million dollars.
Snipes should spend a decade in prison, but he wont do a single day.
