Brit's Parents Make Their Move in Court

TMZ has learned Britney Spears' parents are going to court -- the courtroom that establishes conservatorship for people whose personal health and welfare are gravely at risk.
Jamie and Lynne Spears arrived this morning at the County courthouse in downtown L.A. Sources say both parents are extremely concerned about the welfare of their daughter, and upset because Sam Lutfi is trying to call the shots on all matters Britney.

The court has the power to create a conservatorship, which would allow both Jamie and Lynne to make medical decisions on behalf of Britney. The conservatorship would also allow them to control Britney's financial affairs. Both parents have made it clear: they believe Lutfi's influence has placed their daughter and her assets at risk.

We're in court, so stay tuned. The hearing is now scheduled for 1:30 PM PT.

331. The Court should issue an Order appointing a Guardian ad litem eliminating both of her parents and Lutfi completely, to be nothing more than bystanders. A Court Order should also be issued appointing the Trust Dept. of a bank to oversee her finances - all money coming in, and going out in bills, and pay them for her. Both of her parents and Lutfi are irresponsible, and none of them should EVER be in control of her welfare or finances. This would give the professionals a chance to do
their job and help Britney medically, and protect her financial assets at this time without the parents and Lutfi manipulating everyone and everything. If the judge does not do this, I will be extremely disappointed in the Judge. Bella

335. I think an independent person should be appointed conservator, with a tight control of what they can do. I wouldn't trust her money or life with her parents, they're the ones who whored her out as a child and made her this way! And can't trust the "manager" either....

337. Maybe if Mommy & Daddy Dearest hadn't been visiting that loser leech Britney's ex, even on the pretense of seeing thier grandchildren, then perhaps her situtaion wouldn't have become so serious. They should have been by her side from Day One, forcing KJerk to answer tough questions legally regarding his own parenting and his real motivation for his relentless legal attacks against her. It's been obvious for some time that she is not well, but if he REALLY cared about his children he would have done his best to quietly help their mother. Instead he hired a high priced attorney, on her dime, to make a difficult situation even worse. He is the ultimate sleazebag.

Imagine having your own parents visitng your ex, and YOUR children when you are literally falling apart? And when the ex is so culpable for her current mental state? She has supported her own parents before she even hit puberty, but in her time of need they abandoned her. And I'm sure KJerk is enjoying every second of her meltdown.

I hope she gets proper treatment and gets well. I hope the judge is not blind to KJerk's real motives . And I hope she will regain her stability so she can be a good mother for her children. Then I hope she cuts off everyone, including her parents,
from the money SHE worked for.

339. Finally her parents are stepping in!! I trust her father more than her mother and Im glad that the courts gave him the right to make decisions. Finally hopefully Britney will get her medical condition back on track and become a productive, good citizen again and become well enough to be a good mother to her children. Kfed seen what was happening with her and knew he had to step in and make sure his boys were in good hands. He has proven that he is a GREAT father.

342. Too bad there isn't a third choice for the voting. Something along the lines of "none of the above." You have to feel a little sorry for Britney though she has brought a lot of this on herself. She is surrounded by leeches that don't seem to really care about her, only what they can suck out of her, and that includes her parents. Too bad her mom has no talent, then she could have had all this craziness dumped in her lap instead of thrusting her girls into it without giving them the first life skill.
I mean, Britney and her sis Jaime Lynn are both complete screw-ups, but they are what their mother made them.

343. Carol,tell me one reason why the grandparents should not visit their grandchildren? Britney was busy cutting people out of her life that even bothered to say NO or question her. She cut them out not vice versa. Meanwhile you think they shouldn't visit their own grandchildren? that is just nuts to me.

344. 331. This is simply not true. The judge only appointed the conservator to the attorney through Tuesday, February 5, 2008. The conservator will receive a 'fee' for his services to be dictated by the courts. He cannot spend her money freely, he can pay any 'bill’s due. But to take any monies and spend it foolishly would be considered embezzlement and the conservator would/could be charged with a felony.

345. It's about time the hangers on are ordered by the court to stay away. Ms. Spears family are the only voices that should count now the she's hospitalized. All these other people will have to go out now and get real jobs and stop leeching off the weak and frail. I think she needs to stay in the hospital until they know 100% what's wrong with her and then she needs to go home with her family and stay away from CA for a good long time.
