Eva Mendes in Rehab

TMZ has learned Eva Mendes is in Utah battling a substance abuse problem.

We're told the "Ghost Rider" star is at the famous Cirque Lodge, near Sundance. The Lodge, which treated Lindsay Lohan and other stars, is one of the most respected treatment facilities in the country.

Eva has been at Cirque for several weeks.

Her rep tells TMZ "Eva has been working hard for the past year and made a positive decision to take some much-needed time off to proactively attend to some personal issues that, while not critical, she felt deserved some outside professional support. Out of respect for Eva's privacy, we do not wish to discuss further details."

166. I would just like to say that addiction isn't only happening in Hollywood, it happens all over the world. Famous or not, mental or not, it can happen to anyone, even the people you never could have imagined who are probably doing it right now and you don't even know! Hopefully though the people who want to live life and know it is a blessing will quit whatever, if it is a few drinks or a bing every night. To whomever goes to these rehabs and is successful I applause you, even for trying I give you a thumbs up!

167. This was an unexpected thing to me. I never thought she had a problem. But people don't have to look like it to have a problem ya know. I just wish her the best. Alot of Celebs have been hitting rehabs; like an epidemic. But goes to show that the best of us have problems.

168. Nancy # 5 I am in agreement with you on so many levels. Movie Stars no longer exist, they are all couch whores. And for the people who go and see the filth these people choose to put on celuloid you are adding fuel to the fire. As far as movies go I rent one only if the ratings are stupendous.

174. The reason we hear about celebs going to rehab is because we care. We visit the sites, we buy the mags and watch the shows that continually discuss this stuff and give the paps a reason to chase these guys down. Regular folk enter rehab every day but we don't hear about it or don't care because it's not "newsworthy". I don't think it's Hollywood that does it to them, but it does help. They have the money and the means to get their "drug" of choice and luckily, they have the money and the means to rehab when they need to if they choose to. Many regular people probably do not the same resources.

177. Im glad more and more celebs are taking rehab SERIOUSLY and not just going for a day or week... I personally have been there, for being bipolar and using drugs and alcohol as a way to self medicate, instead of letting my doctor take the time to figure the right combo of meds that work for me, which i now have thankfully... but celebs who use the rehab centers for good, are brave, esp. if their in the private eye, i have so much empathy for Britney Spears...I honestly am just an outsider looking in on her world, but from what the media reports, she shows some classic signs of bipolar, and she needs medication if thats true, or its just gonna get worse and harder to treat the longer she goes without treatment...im glad shes in a hospital right now, even if it is against her will, sometimes thats the only way a doctor can truely find out whats wrong and start someone on meds, and convince them its for their own good... i know from experience.. so Bless Her, and may she get better, and become the Star she was and climb to bigger and better places.

179. What a shame that she chose 2 "Go Hollywood" and do the whole "Rehab" publicity thing... Yes, I think this story is B-S#!t because if it were REAL she would have gone 2 "Rehab" privately and not 2 the Cirque Lounge (where Lindsay Lohan went)
