Eva Mendes in Rehab

TMZ has learned Eva Mendes is in Utah battling a substance abuse problem.

We're told the "Ghost Rider" star is at the famous Cirque Lodge, near Sundance. The Lodge, which treated Lindsay Lohan and other stars, is one of the most respected treatment facilities in the country.

Eva has been at Cirque for several weeks.

Her rep tells TMZ "Eva has been working hard for the past year and made a positive decision to take some much-needed time off to proactively attend to some personal issues that, while not critical, she felt deserved some outside professional support. Out of respect for Eva's privacy, we do not wish to discuss further details."

17. Making a story out of celebrity rehab/drug use is like shooting fish in a barrel. Not to mention boring. I guess that is why more respected news outlets don't bother with such fodder.

20. I used to live in Los Angeles, Hollywood to be exact. You can get ANYTHING ANYTIME you want. It's a very very tempting place with umpteen parties, posers, losers, liars...and way too much fun, frustration and anxiety. I had a blast, but a blast a life does not make. I chose a better life. :-)

22. a celebrity in rehab??? what a surprise! I'm totally shocked that a famous person cannot function without some foreign substance floating in their bodies. After all..why should they use that money to actually help someone ...nnoooooo..so much better to drown in booze and drugs. Well done EVA!

25. Celebrities have everything, why do they have to resort to this? When you're living in a box (or a van down by the river) eating stale crackers, then okay, yeah, you have a reason to be a druggie or an alcoholic because your life sucks...but they have no excuse for it. Grow some balls and deal with life, you spoiled brats.

28. Yes, no doubt Hollywood can make stars sick. They apparently think they are entitled to adoration and nothing will touch them.

sadly, she and Justin Chambers will now be hounded by TMZ cuz Brit is out of site for a while ( or least til this weekend when she gets the hell out, as we all know she will try )

suggestion, TMZ, leave them alone. could help, never know.
