At a Super Bowl weekend performance at 944 Village in Scottsdale, AZ -- Wyclef asked for 30 girls to shake it with him on stage, but announced a weight limit for anyone climbing up to join him.
Wyclef finished his performance with a far-from-Jimi-Hendrix-caliber rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.
106. It had nothing to do with the weight on the stage or saftey, com on! The stage was filled to capacity with 50 skinny girls as it would have have been with 45 skinny & fat ones. The weight would have been the same. He is a bigot. What if he had said "white women only"? There would be hell to pay then, but where it used to be socially acceptable to show this kind of discrimination in public about blacks and women - now it is fat people. Oh, and to the person who made the comment about how fat women smell - do you know what they used to say about how blacks smelled? Shame on you. Shame on all of you who think this or any type of bigotry is okay. And especially shame on you if you are black or a woman... you should know better than anybody about the pain bigotry causes. What if you were the the 205lb woman crawling up on the stage the moment this comment was made???? Biogtry is ignornat and evil.

I've never been, nor will I ever be a fan of his. He better hope noone in the audience feels 'sue happy' cause I'm sure, they'd have a good case especially since it was caught on video. Who does he think he is? He woudn't be who he is w/o his fans, big or small.

109. Well, speaking as someone who has been both larger and thinner, this so called rapper should not have made this comment. If his stage was not equipped to handle all of the fans that wanted to come up and dance with him, then he shouldn't have asked ANY fans to come up. It is wrong to discriminate against someone for any reason at all. We are one of the most advanced civilizations in the world. This is unacceptable behavior, especially on the part of someone in the public eye. Yes, he is free to have his own opinions, but keep them to yourself. I wouldn't be surprised if he loses many fans or faces a lawsuit out of this. I heard that he tried to make up for it at a show the next night by asking all the large ladies to come up and dance with him, but I think that's a day late, dollar short. He knows he messed up. But really, don't all the celebrities know when they messed up? Look at Mel Gibson, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Kramer from Seinfeld... all of them publicly apologized and make the rounds trying to make ammends. Don't discriminate in the first place and you won't have to make ammends later. Just my opinion for what it's worth. Yes, I meet the weight requirements and No, I won't be buying Wyclef's music. Nor would I support anyone who breeds hate.

112. Okay, a few things...
#1 I'm not certain if anyone has mentioned this but to be 'morbidly obese' you have to be at least 100 lbs overweight. You would have to be quite short indeed for our maximum 'healthy' weight to be 100 lbs! All of you talking about how lazy/stupid overweight people and touting how healthy YOU are should check your facts.
#2 As indicated above, there is NO correlation between weight and intelligence. Furthermore, if 'fat people' are so very lazy, why do we see so many of them out and about everyday? Working the same jobs 'skinny people' work? Walking their dogs, picking up their kids from school, etc.???? Just because you don't run marathons, it doesn't mean you are lazy. In fact, many of the individuals at my gym would be considered overweight and they aren't there trying to lose weight, just get exercise/let off some steam.
#3 To 'lunat1k' (or whatever asinine way you mutilated the word), if someone 'stinks' it is because they are unclean, period---there are plenty of thin people that are unclean. I'm not sure where you hang out but if you consistently run into people who smell unclean, maybe you should consider checking out some new places.
#4 Okay, to all the people who said if overweight women were allowed on stage, the weight limit would be exceeded? Um, how all 20 women would not have been overweight! The 20 would have been a mix in likely the same ratio that the whole audience was...and heavier individuals tend to be a minority at events like this. Want to know why? Probably because, sadly, ignorant people make them feel as if they are second class citizens who aren't worthy of attending/wanted at events like this!!!! Yeah, I'm talking about those who whisper, stare, snicker, etc. What? Do you think fat people can't see/hear you? How would you like it if one of your physical features was stereotyped against...let's say red hair, for example. All redheads would then be considered less than human, stupid, lazy (otherwise, they'd dye their hair, right!?), disgusting. Then YOU would be the one stared at, whispered about, and the butt of the jokes. Now that would suck, wouldn't it?

It's HIS show, he can do what he wants.
He already has enough $$$, he has a wife and a career he loves, so if a few fat women get their feelings hurt, then guess what?

Fat chicks can CLAIM that men want them but let's look at the men choosing them...men settling for the easy route with evidence that he'll love her no matter her size.

Are you getting the message ladies...men are letting you know you can't tell us what makes us think you're attractive...and having to look at rolls of fat, stretched skin and a nasty entitlement personality does NOT make you attractive.
Trying to fit in smaller clothes doesn't work either.
Trying to show off a larger chest and hiding the fat squeezing out isn't attractive.
Having to buy a larger ride to accommodate your girth is a sign to leave you alone.
Finally, NO ONE HAS TO ACCEPT YOUR WEIGHT AS A POTENTIAL MATE. You're fat--either do something about it or tell some simp sniffing at your rolls. Men who want women in shape and who work and looking good with a nice personality and are FEMININE will get men,
