Celebrity Justice
Britney Court Blow-By-Blow

Here are the headlines from today's court hearing:

Jamie Spears is still the co-conservator of Britney's estate, as is Andrew Wallet.

The Commissioner did not give the conservators the power to fire Trope and Trope, Brit's divorce lawyers.

The Commissioner said, based on the restraining order, Sam Lutfi can have no contact whatsoever with Britney -- including e-mails, phone contact, etc.

The Commish extended the conservatorship to Valentine's Day.

The Commissioner said Adam Streisand had no legal basis for claiming he's Britney's new lawyer. There will be a hearing at some point to determine just how mentally competent Britney is.

76. The child/woman is in the UCLA psych ward which is deemed one of the best facilities in the US. The child/woman's physician is one of the most respected in her field. The child/woman was using a British accent; standing naked in a store; wearing see-through clothing; driving 100 mph down residential streets; doing drugs; going to a school requesting to pick up some children she didn't know; was in a 'stand-off' on January 3rd for hours not allowing her children to leave and was taken to a hospital so she is capable of handling her affairs, hiring an attorney???? Yeah . . . . right!!! The attorney will say anything to get paid. Don't you all know that by now?? AND, what if that were your child, brother, or sister??? Secondly, to #61 - you're right...EVERYONE should boycott X17 because any agency who would pay and publish photographs of Britney or anyone during a particular cycle of their month is nothing but out and out trash and if Lufti had her well being at heart, he would have done everything in his power not to allow that to happen and the same goes for Adnan. I just pray that Britney never learned about those photos. To #62 and others . . . get it through your heads . . . Jamie Spears DOES NOT have sole control of her estate/money. The court appointed an attorney whom the family does not know to be a co-conservator to there won't be any wrong doings. AND, Jamie Spears does not want her money. He has been living withour any backing from Britney for a few years PLUS he asked for a co-conservator. If people really cared about Britney, they would want her away from attorneys that will do or say anything for a buck and therefore, do not have her best interests at heart; if people really cared about Britney they would want her away from Lufti who is just like, if not worse than Howard K. Stern; and finally, if people really cared about Britney, they want her to get the medical help she needs so she won't be another laughing stock like Anna Nicole Smith and end up dead like her!

77. I hope Jamie realizes that he has a very limited window of opportunity to expose Sam as a crook, and is putting together a team of accountants and investigators to go over every business deal entered into and every penny spent since Sam came into the picture. Maybe when this is all over, Britney will understand that her dad may have issues, but he is looking out for her. Jamie just needs to keep his ex-wife AWAY from the finances! Lynne is every bit as evil as Sam, if not more so.

78. Stump~
Yeah, most of us would agree that she wasn't "incapacitated or unable to make rational decisions in the past when she publically said she wanted nothing to do with her father".
Those of us that are older than 21 would also agree that what she was, was a spoiled, rich girl that had never been told no in her life. That is, until her dad--acting like a dad-- probably told her no or got on to her for her behavior. I love me some Britney, and I really hope to see her well and back on top one day. But I also see her as the rebellious child that she was/is. I mean, do a little reading on the details surrounding both of her weddings. She did it "HER" way and wouldn't let anyone tell her anything.
Her parents are doing what most normal parents would do when dealing with a spoiled, rebellious child. They had to let her crash and burn before they could come in and help her.

80. Bueno, yo creo que Britney le hace falta amor, pero amor de verdad, sobretodo de la familia porque la fama no le a calado muy bien. Ojala y se recupere pronto de todo eso y vuelva a divertirnos con sus canciones. Suerte Britney.

82. When Brit's meds restore her to within the bounds of legal competence, I hope someone will steer her to a Web site like this:

86. No where else in America would this happen. There are so many people in the world with serious mental problems and they get thrown to the streets or put in jail. This has become a nightmare and I still say that it's one big publicity stunt that went bad.

87. Congratulations to Britney's family for hanging in there and fighting for their daughter! As for the law firm of Trope and Trope---happily, they haven't succeeded at one thing they have tried to do for Britney--when she's better, I hope she fires them!!!

89. http://bittenandbound.com/2008/02/03/exclusive-sam-lutfi-text-messages/

must check that web-site out, it's pretty sick, and I have to say..after all that's been said about Sam..I believe this. Especially with that quote he made recently saying "you look at her and she begs you not to turn on her" or whatever the hell he said, yeah, he made her the way she is. Hopefully, the restraining order will stick for good. Does anyone know what, if anything, can happen to him since he violated the restraining order? Does the restraining order not apply if it hasn't been served? AND WHERE IS SAM STAYING?? At an x17 photog's house?? PROBABLY.

90. I think she's been bi-polar far longer than people realize. First she impulsively marries an old friend then suddenly marries K-Fed. I think these were the early warning signs. If you look back over the last few years there have been quite a few impulsive things that she's done that people put down as "quirky" or just being a spoiled brat. Bi-polar disorder doesn't show up over night, it develops over time. The problem is, until it hits full force as it has since she left k-Fed, no one recognizes the odd behavior for what it is. Honestly, I think that's the reason she filed for divorce to begin with, the impulsive act of a manic phase that was finally ready to explode. I'm not saying that he was a treat as a husband, but it did take him by surprise. There may well have been serious problems, but you have to wonder how much was her bi-polar and how much was his unsuitability as a husband. The marriage may have been doomed, but I think the way it went down was probably typical of a manic phase. She needs serious help. Her family is the best support she has. My bet is that even if they haven't been the image of perfection, most of the problems have been because of her undiagnosed illness. Even if they have been estranged, they have tried over the last year to help. A mentally ill person is as bad as an addict. They push away the people who most want to help. Until an addict hits rock bottom, families are helpless. It works the same with mental illness. Until the person either asks for help or something happens that the family can step in and force something, there is nothing that can be done except sit on the sidelines waiting for their chance.
