Celebrity Justice
Britney Court Blow-By-Blow

Here are the headlines from today's court hearing:

Jamie Spears is still the co-conservator of Britney's estate, as is Andrew Wallet.

The Commissioner did not give the conservators the power to fire Trope and Trope, Brit's divorce lawyers.

The Commissioner said, based on the restraining order, Sam Lutfi can have no contact whatsoever with Britney -- including e-mails, phone contact, etc.

The Commish extended the conservatorship to Valentine's Day.

The Commissioner said Adam Streisand had no legal basis for claiming he's Britney's new lawyer. There will be a hearing at some point to determine just how mentally competent Britney is.

122. I'm really, really sorry I said those terrible things about Barack Obama. I am a fine Christian woman.

I re-read my Bible and then asked myself, WWJD? and I found the answer. I'm so sorry, Barack Obama!

love,
kelli

123. Because of what the vultures like Trope and Trope, Sam and Adnan have done, if I were the conservators, I would dispose of everything and put all the proceeds in a trust fund for Britanny and a court appointed attorney. The vultures are circling her.
She has already been taken in by foreigners. She doesn't need the pressure anyway. Protect her assets. Once they are in lockdown, the vultures won't want anything to do with her.

124. I think it is a good thing that all this media coverage has drawn public attention to this disease. But while that is good, what is not good is that coverage of Britney's bipolar disorder has sensationalized her symptoms without educating the public on the effectiveness of treatment and the fact that since the use of lithium was discovered to be effective in treating bipolar disorder more than 50 years ago, advances in the discovery of new drugs and the use of combining drugs in the treatment of bipolar disease over the last 30 years has progressed so that of the millions of bipolar victims receiving treatment, the vast majority are able to lead a completely normal life. Those who are treated but not leading a normal life are either undertreated or undereducated in managing drug combinations when episodes change.

There is no lack in effective treatment for bipolar disease but there is a lack in educating the public so that those victims who are undertreated or undereducated in managing episodes might be motivated to discuss their problems with their doctor or seek help from a mental health provider more experienced in treating the bipolar disorder. But the greatest lack in educating the public is in battling the stigma of mental health disorders, the stigma which discourages victims from seeking help. So while it is good that all this media coverage of Britney Spears has drawn public attention to this disease, the manner of that coverage has added to the stigma of bipolar disorder in such a way that the public is discussing her illness as though she is hopelessly insane and hopelessly incompetent forever. Both could not be further from the truth. Britney is not insane and she is not hopelessly incompetent forever. Far from it.

Britney's bipolar illness is a bioneurological disorder involving an imbalance of chemicals that regulate her emotions. And although the disorder is incurable, the symptoms are completely treatable so that bipolar victims can lead a normal life, completely competent and completely sane. A few notable examples of that is Congressman Patrick Kennedy, longtime television journalist Jane Pauley and actress Carrie Fisher. To quote Carrie Fisher when discussing her illness, she said "I'm fine, but I'm bipolar. I'm on seven medications, and I take medication three times a day. This constantly puts me in touch with the illness I have. I'm never quite allowed to be free of that for a day. It's like being a diabetic." If the media would solicit comments from people like these concerning the situation that Britney Spears is in, maybe her illness would be less portrayed as an insanity such as the media is doing.

125. Carol -- you forgot K-fed, and especially his lawyer Kaplan the TWO biggest vulture of them all. These are the people we know for sure have gotten their hands on alot of Britney's money, and still want more. Kaplan is supposed to go to court soon, and ask the judge to order Britney to pay him a further $500,000 (half a mllion dollars) for his legal servces, since K-Fed doesn't have a job, and no way to pay his own legal bills, and stupidly hired himself a lawyer he cannot afford.
Out of all the people you list, it is Kaplans who has been getting the most money out of Britney! And other than Britney's own lawyers noone has any proof that Sam,or Adnan has gotten a dime from her.

126. once they stabilize her disease, she will still be a stubborn, spoiled brat...i don't expect for a minute that even stabilized she will have the good sense she has always lacked, she will be right back to these two idiots and if not them, new ones. just because she is mentally stable will not mean she will all of a sudden become smart or intelligent in her life. not even close. treatment for mental illness does not change selfishness or stubbornness.

127. To Steve - It's my understanding KFED is gone into court to ask for $500,000 is because Brittany repeatedly held up court proceedings and lawyers charge whether or not somone shows up. If she can buy for the foreign vultures, like Adnan, then let her be accountable and pay for all these court hold ups just like eventually she should pay for the LA Police escort to the hospital. KFED hasn't be unreasonable in his demands. You should see my former daughter in law and her demands. If Britany had shown up and resolved issues, it would never cost that much. He's taking good care of the kids. He's not a problem.

129. Why can't they wait till she is out of the hospital to make any decisions? I know she has been trying to escape accountability, but eventually she will have to make some decisions - illness or not.

130. What in the hell are all the Obama Barrak messages on here for? This isn't about him and by the way he is a practicing Muslim, which is fine with me, but I feel he is not the best choice for President. "Nuff said. As for Mr. Spears, suddenly everyone says he is out for her money...duh, he has not taken anything from her. who has the big mansion in Beverly Hills? Mama spears! I applaud Mr. spears for stepping up to the plate and trying to get things striaght for his daughter. You have the nerve to call him a leech....what about Federline, Adnan, Lutfi? Trope and Trope? Streisand? And as for you Shirlini....how in the hell old are you? 10? 12? You are a major idiot.

133. Mental illness is not any kind of funny. It is no more funny than some sort physical illness. I haven't heard any official diagnosis of Britney and none of us are likely to. However, I am thinking that Britney likely has more than one thing going on here. She may well be bipolar. She may also have an eating disorder and suffer from panic attacks and anxiety. There is no telling how many different drugs she has been self medicating with. Her situation is anything but funny.

As far as people making money off Britney, that's true. Lawyers get paid. So do doctors and hospitals and everyone else that does anything for her. This is perfectly reasonable. Right now, Britney is incapable of handling her own life and finances. Her mortgages have to be paid along with the utility and phone bills. The maid has to be paid. Her little doggies have to be fed and if they get sick will need to go to the vet, who will also have to be paid. It costs money to live and to live on Britney's level costs a lot of money. That's just the way it is.

All of the expenditures made from her accounts will be overseen by the court. The conservator is to protect her assets from random looting. Any credit cards she gave out will have to be collected or the cards canceled. The locks need to be changed on her homes. No one has any idea to whom she gave credit cards or keys to her houses or cars. It would certainly cause Britney stress to discover that various people had been living in her homes, driving her cars, running up huge bills on her credit cards, and that nothing had been paid: not the credit card bills or the mortgages (wrecking her credit) and that her little dogs had starved to death.

If her business manager, Grossman, is buddies with Lutfi, he has no business being any kind of conservator. There is something creepy about that. It looks funny that Grossman and Lutfi would want to be involved in a conservatorship. It would make sense if she had no family, but she does.

134. Take a look at that fresh young face on the covers of her early albums. Who would have thought that pretty, bright-eyed little girl with cute smile, brilliant dance moves, upbeat music and superstar status would have wound up like this?..locked up in a psychiatric ward with everyone fighting over who should control her life because she can no longer think for herself? How did this happen? And how could so many people refuse to acknowledge that she is indeed mentally ill and deserves nothing at this point but well wishes. TMZ should come in here and delete every single post that wishes her dead. Voicing your opinion is one thing but death wishes are crossing the line.
