34. #30 she is not worth $100 million. Forbes and all the other magazines estimating are wrong. much like 50 cent said they were wrong last year. I've known this for a long time. even fox news claimed madonna was worth 1 billion when she isn't worth anywhere near that. these magazines are always wrong. unless you can see their bank accounts and debts you will not know.

I am surprised britney is even worth $40. she spent so much money and didn't have what magazines claimed in the first place.

35. This should just go to show everyone that money cannot buy anyone happiness. Regardless of whether she's worth $40 million or over $100 million, she's still worth millions and is miserable. This poor girl is in the nutfarm. Everyone in her life has been bleeding her dry from the time she was, what, 10 years old? Is it any surprise that she finally had a breakdown? We all have our core group that we can rely on (usually), our few close personal friends or our families and this girl can't even trust them! Her family is just as bad as everyone else. Her mom is a stage mom. Stage moms are their own special breed of psycho. You can't tell me they weren't happy as clams when the Britney Spears machine started lining their pockets. Her husband obviously married her for her money and how she could advance him in his career. Her supposed friends all seem to disappear when things get too hinky and the party stops. I don't think her lawyers are doing a good job at all. Every time she goes into court she gets screwed. With her money she should've been able to make that little K-Fed problem disappear a long time ago, so something stinks! I think they should all piss off and leave her alone. The court should appoint new counsel, a new conservator that is completely unknown to her and new doctors. They should get her the hell out of California altogether because the land of fruits and nuts is not conducive to getting better, mentally. Girl, you can come to Kansas and stay with me. We'll put you to work on the farm and you can sweat it all out and start from a new perspective. Some times its best just to start completely over. She could take what money she has left and just live the rest of her life in modest and normal surroundings and never have to work a day. I repeat what I said about California. That place is crawling with leeches, losers, psychos, narcissists and thieves. You'll never get any peace of mind there.

40. So Britney has a business manager! So what is all the public panic about Sam for?! He is NOT her manager, he has no access to her money. The only people who have any access to her money is Britney, her business manager, and her bank .
This is why it is important to have all the information about someone, before making judgements.

Well TMZ's new report says that Adam Streisand or whatever his name is was not her lawyer or whatever and is she has not hired him who did?? why was he there and maybe he made up the part about her fortune?? who knows $40m is stil a lot of money people. Probly more money than all of us comenting will ever make put together in a lifetime.

45. Court states her net worth is 40 million. Assets - Liabilities = Net worth. She may have over 100 million in assets, but you have to deduct her debts to determine her net worth. An asset is anything a person owns that has monetary value: House, car, stocks, bonds, money market, businesses, personal items, etc. Assets can be either liquid or tangible. Then you have to subtract what they owe. Britney may have a house worth 15 million, but she also may have a mortgage on it for 12 million. She may own several business worth 20 million, but she also may have loans against the businesses for 10 million. Not all assets are investments; some assets such as most cars, most jewelry, personal items, ect, do not appreciate in value but depreciate, therefore not an investment, but that doesn't mean they are not assets because they are still worth something. For an asset to be an investment is must be appreciating in value. There are a lot of people on this board who do not know what they are talking about. I find it entirely possible for her to be worth only 40 million. Even though she may have 100 million worth of "things", I'm sure she owes a lot too.
