35. Just a thought folks - maybe she truly is mentally ill. Mental illness frequently strikes in young adult hood to people who were seemingly fine. It can happen quickly or slowly - one never knows. Much of the erratic behavior she's been exhibiting over the past couple of years could be the beginnings of a serious mental illness.

38. 20. In California, lawyers are required to have a written retainer agreement signed by their client. Since Britney has been hospitalized and Mr. Streisand supposedly cannot get into a locked psychiatric hospital wing to see her, how did he get a retainer agreement signed by her? That doesn't even approach the second question of whether or not Britney would have present legal capacity to sign such an agreement. Third, she had 2 co-conservators who have the exclusive power to deal with contracts and agreements on her behalf. So, IMHO, Mr. Streisand is not qualified to speak on her behalf in court, even to express her wishes regarding appointment of a conservator. Her retainer agreement with Trope and Trope is likely limited to representing her in family law matters; not a general retainer for all legal matters.

Thank you for being the voice of reason and knowledge here.
The court appointed attorney says that Britney isn't competent to uunderstand what is going on. Even if she did sign something yesterday or the day before, it will be disqualified in court because of her incompetence.

I really don't understand why so many posters think the "family" is after her money. I am sure Britney's mother was paid handsomely while she was Britney's manager. The house in LA is undoubtably paid for so only taxes and maintenance need to be paid. Lynn, no doubt has had someone manage and invest the money that was made and doesn't need to stoop so low as to pilfer Britney's money now. Lynn also has money coming in from Jamie Lynn's career of whom she is still manager.

Britney's dad Jamie OBVIOUSLY does not want her money. He never has and never will. He, I'm sure just wants to make sure that everything is safeguarded for his daughter.

Personally, I found the ruling of conservatorship to be proper and the most beneficial for Britney in the long run.

Mom and Dad don't need that money so people need to get off of that train of thought. Mark my words.

What I want to know are what are the 7 Businesses that Britney has? Seven fragrances? Wasn't she going to produce a clothing line for kids? Wonder what happened to that.

40. Why do you all think Brit Brit is being forced to take medication? As per her patient rights, she has the ability to refuse any and all medications offerred to her during treatment. They only way medication can be forced is by a judge in court and only if she is a danger to herself or others.

43. When the smokes clear and the evidence is revealed in this case many things will come to light.

1. That Sam Lutfi NEVER planned an intervention for Brit it was her parents. Yet, he tried taking credit for it to dupe people. And, as an avenue to try and cover his sorry @ss.

2. That Sam Lutfi has been a huge contributing factor in her mental decline. God knows what the man was was giving her either illicit or RX and probably even a combo.

3. Sam Lutfi has been the huge leak to the press. And, he made $$$$$$ from it.

Lets hope this low life falls off the radar. He'll likely try pimping his sisters for tricks soon, for the man is a sociopath!

45. Oh my! I didn't think she was that bad. They,(the doctors), wouldn't have extended her stay if it weren't serious! I pray that Britney gets better! All of you who are in doubt of her parents involvement should stop and think now. Sam Lutfi wasn't taking her to the doctors he was and still is trying to take her to the cleaners! The Spears family is in my prayers! This is very serious she is a very sick young lady right now.
