Britney SpearsBritney Spears has been released from the psychiatric ward at UCLA Medical Center, the L.A. Times is reporting.

According to the paper, Spears slipped quietly out -- compared to the massive fanfare that went on the night she went in.

A law enforcement source tells TMZ the hospital let her go "because she was no longer required to stay there after 11:30 AM." We have not confirmed this independently, however, if the hospital decides Britney is no longer a danger to herself or others, the hospital loses its basis to hold her against her will.

64. OH NO! She needs to be in there. Her head is massively messed up. The girl has clearly shown signs of schizophrenia for a long long time. She needs help!

She needs to stay away from Osama Lutfi. My Gosh - the name Osama must mean the devil or something. Because that guy clearly is! He should have been arrested for nearly murdering her by giving her drugs and cutting her phone lines to the outside.

73. Read that she was released to another one of her homes. They said that she will be going for more help to another place later. This is just another stop off before that. Let us just hope that is the case.
