Britney's Crazy Car Chase to Bev Hills Hotel

In one of the more spectacular sights of the Britney chase, Spears and a convoy of at least 20 SUVs full of paparazzi all banged a left turn -- at the same time.


The group converged from four lanes to a single lane entrance, as Spears made it into the overhang entry. Check out the madness, caught on the MyFoxLA.com live cam.

The chase ended at the Beverly Hills Hotel, when cops arrived and broke up the paparazzi party. Britney was promptly escorted inside, where according to ExtraTV.com, she came face to face with Arnold Schwarzenegger's wife Maria Shriver!

17. This is crazy. Everyone bitches about her not being safe driving, running lights, etc. She JUST got out of the hospital and you guys are at it again. Its not wonder she's lost her mind, any sane person would with all that madness around constantly. If news companies would stop paying these jerks for photos during times like this then she might actually have a chance to get better.

Just imagine if her kids were with her .. as a mom myself I'd be livid to see how CARELESS and IRRESPONSIBLE these paps drive.

18. TMZ reported that the conservatorship is still in place. But the conservatorship cannot be in place if Britney nolonger meets the criteria for appointing a conservator. So if it is in place, it is only in place in a technical sense and it will only be in place until Britney or her lawyer appear in court to request that it be terminated. But I think it terminates automatically when Britney nolonger meets the criteria for appointing a conservator if the appointment was made against her consent when she did meet the criteria.

The definition of "gravely disabled" is not vague as defined in subparagraph (A) paragraph (1) subdivision (h) of Section 5008 of the California Probate Code, which is the legal basis for appointing a conservator for persons with a mental disorder. It requires a qualified clinical psychiatric finding that a person having a mental disorder be a harm to self and be unable to manage basic physical needs. If the psychiatric hold has been released, then it also means that the "gravely disabled" psychiatric finding has changed, and if she is nolonger "gravely disabled," then that means that she nolonger meets the criteria that was the legal basis for appointing a conservator. The meds she is being treated with have obviously become therapeutic and that means that she has been restored now to within the bounds of legal competence.

But that now gives rise to an interesting question. It was reported while Britney was in the hospital, after being appointed conservator, that Britney's father had GPS tracking devices installed on Britney's cars. Giving him the benefit of trust, I will assume that he did that for the purpose of protecting the vehicles from theft during Britney's incapacitation. But now that Britney has been released, the question arises whether or not Britney's father will use those GPS tracking devices to monitor her movements? That is a big NO-NO if Britney has been restored to within the bounds of legal competence. Devices used then for surveillance to track Britney's movements without her knowledge and consent is a felony. The person using those devices to do that will be guity of felony eavesdropping, which includes using "any communication made through a tracking device consisting of an electronic or mechanical device which permits the tracking of the movement of a person or object."
